Nina Dobrev In J. Mendel – Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party

Nina Dobrev joined some of Hollywood’s biggest stars at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood last night.

The ‘Vampire Diaries’ actress looked beautiful in a black J.Mendel Fall 2012 gown, shown just a few weeks ago during his red-carpet ready Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week presentation.

With a cut-out detailed deep V-neck and pleated skirt, Nina shows just the right amount of skin, without fear of a wardrobe malfunction.

A sparkling Jimmy Choo clutch, Chopard jewels and Brian Atwood heels complete the look.

Love this, it looks so elegant and fresh at the same time but I somehow wish the skirt was not pleated, but more structured instead.

Do you know what her shoes look like? Her stylist said Brian Atwood t-strap navy platform heels but I can’t find them.

At least Rooney Mara didn’t wear this, right? Haha
On Nina…hmmm. I’m not a fan of plunging necklines, although the cut-out details are interesting here, but overall the dress is too dark and somber in my opinion. Maybe it’s the length of the skirt…whatever it is, I prefer Nina in more light-hearted feminine designs.

I don’t like this. It feels too old for her & it really broadens her. There is also something sort of medieval that I do not like about it at all, and the hair really doesn’t help that.

Amazing!!! :) I don’t remember her looking so sophisticated and elegant. I love how she didn’t over do the accessories, those clucth and earrings add just the right amount of bling. Critic, could she be an BTODW contender?

I love this, the cut outs perform beautifully here, perfect fit and she kept it simple accessory wise which I like….

Amazing. Love the peplum skirt plus the nipped in waist. The cut-outs are strategically placed to look elegant. She is giving the model a run for her money!

What a great directional look for her! Finally she has broken out of the ice-skating costume/princess rut she’s been stuck in for so long :)

she’s just so determined not to anything wrong on the red carpet. maybe we’ll have a poll on “most determined to get it right on the red carpet” poll this year. she looks fabulous but i much prefer her michael kors look from the spirit awards!
