Elizabeth Banks attended the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar party hosted by Graydon Carter at Sunset Tower in California last night.
I wanted to see some dramatic gowns on Oscar night, so Elizabeth gave it to me wearing this Chadwick Bell Fall 2012 dress.
Her green, navy polka-dotted long-sleeve gown with a navy feathered skirt and velvet waistband was the most interesting look of the night.
As always, the more interesting looks are saved for the after-parties, as actress are too scared to make bold choices at the main event for fear of ending up on the worst dressed list.
Elizabeth teamed her dress with a Jimmy Choo ‘Cameo’ clutch and Bulgari jewels.
This was Chadwick Bell’s first major red carpet moment, and Elizabeth did well by him.

I like this, it’s different and interest and still beautiful.
Way to go, Elizabeth. This truly is the most interesting look of the night and for that I give her props. I love it. It’s memorable.
Yes, very memorable.
Thank god for the departure of her Versace phase (for now). This gown on her is stunning. I never really remembered her red carpet moments but this, I will remember for a very long time.
I really like this. She looks great. Glad to see someone wearing something interesting.
No, it is too confusing for my taste. The polka-dot and feather? Gosh…
+1 I know, it’s like a crazy-aunt dress! I don’t really like the colors together.
Different and certainly memorable. I love it and she looks beautiful.
I think it’s… interesting. I don’t exactly like it, but I approve of her taking the risk. Plus, she wears it better than the model.
Amazing! Best dressed of this event without a doubt
Sweaty peacock…
Wow this is a gown to draw attention. I wish she would have worn this on the red carpet. Stunning.
She was my best dressed of the entire night. It´s bold, it´s youthful, it´s unexpected. I absolutely love it!
Oh my god I love this dress so badly. It’s so interesting and I love the colors. I do have to say I would have wanted to see this dress with someone who has darker hair
feeling a bit let down, it looks good on the model but elizabeth doesnt seem to do it justice.
This dress just looks so much fun. At first glance, people might dismiss this as ugly, but it’s bold. I like a little risk in my dresses.
I love it, except for the neckline. Makes her shoulders look big and heavy. Maybe it would have been softened with her hair down in loose waves.
i am on the fence about it..like the dress but not the neckline & hair !
Love it
A stand out dress.
Definitely.
Wow, what a stunning dress, she looks great! I think this one is best dressed of the night.
One of the best dressed
easily the most interesting dress of the night. I mean polka dots, green, feathers when you put all that in a sentence you can expect a major disaster but here She works it. Nice look
I’m in love. I’m not sure how she wears this look so well but I’m glad she does.
Well, it is interesting for sure. I may have liked it had it been strapless, but with the long sleeves and that neckline, I don’t like it.
