Kirsten Dunst In Dolce & Gabbana – 2012 Independent Spirit Awards

Kirsten Dunst also attended the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards, taking place in Santa Monica tonight.

The ‘Melancholia’ actress chose tailored basics, including a white Dolce & Gabbana blazer and contrasting black mini dress.

The simple look was amped up with quirky accessories – most notably, black-and-white floral wedges plus a yellow clutch which adds a bright pop of colour to this simple look.

Are you a fan of Kirsten’s styling, or do you wish that she’d opted for classic accessories?

Love it! She has been killing it the past few months, I had never been a big fan of hers, but now I look forward to seeing her on the RC :-)

YES! Her stylist/new attitude on the red carpet has been a treat to see for the past few months. Gold star for her.

  4. Dhppy February 26, 2012 at 02:11 #

I like the quirk. It’s the right venue for it.

  5. pepe February 26, 2012 at 02:15 #

i don’t know if is the makeup, the hair color but she looks youngest , confident and happy , i even don’t mind about the hideous shoes.

    • mm February 26, 2012 at 04:08 #

LOL, I agree She looks young and fresh. The shoes scream mallrat and the bag is huge for the redcarpet.

I think she looks fantastic! I have always been a huge fan of her style. The shoes are a little heavy, but I find that about most of the styles that we are seeing on the red carpet. I especially love her blazer, hair and LOVE her purse.

  7. Alice February 26, 2012 at 02:37 #

I love everything except I feel the shoes are a bit too chunky.

  8. gabis February 26, 2012 at 02:55 #

Love everything from the ankles up. The oversized yellow clutch is divine and it works perfectly with the rest of the look.
Too bad I can’t say the same thing about those hideous wedges. I hate wedges by default, but that floral print really takes it to the edge.

KiKi has been killing it on the red carpet

  11. Carolina February 26, 2012 at 03:29 #

Love it! The shoes and clutch elevate what might have been a very pedestrian outfit to something fun, suitable for early spring – and extremely well fitted. Brava!

  12. Christine February 26, 2012 at 03:53 #

I love it from head to toe. Impressive.

  13. dee February 26, 2012 at 04:14 #

Love everything but the shoes. They are awful.

  14. Jess2 February 26, 2012 at 04:25 #

She looks fantastic!! I am not a huge fan of chunky shoes like the ones here (just a personal preference) but they work here. I particularly love her clothes and bag!!

  15. mandy February 26, 2012 at 04:29 #

I went back and forth on this and decided that whilst her ensemble does look good on her and I love her accessories, finishing it off with floral wedges is just weird !

    • Tania February 26, 2012 at 13:23 #

      Ditto!

  16. Mol February 26, 2012 at 04:50 #

I love the way her accessories – shoes, purse – have taken this classic outfit in an unexpected direction, she perfect for the event, a
Ottos bit quirky, a little bit classic

    • Mol February 26, 2012 at 05:38 #

‘ottos’ should read ‘little’- weird how that happened??

  17. bm February 26, 2012 at 05:03 #

She is really killing it with her accessorizes. Love the flower wedges.

  18. Sophie February 26, 2012 at 05:48 #

Amazing! Could not be a bigger fan of this look. The shoes are so unexpected but they lift it from crisp and chic to inspired.

  19. kiwi February 26, 2012 at 06:34 #

The shoes are cheesy but she pulls it off

  20. Katie February 26, 2012 at 07:28 #

She looks great! Her hair is gorgeous and she looks genuinely happy

  21. M February 26, 2012 at 07:33 #

LOVE IT!!! she makes it work…

  22. Christine February 26, 2012 at 07:58 #

Effortless and adorable. The addition of the yellow clutch finishes her look off to perfection.

  23. Emi February 26, 2012 at 08:54 #

I’m not a fan of wedges but I love this look. She’s edgy and classy as usual. I love the touch of color brought by the bag.

  24. fashion~lover February 26, 2012 at 09:05 #

I love this look on Kirsten. It is lovely. She is glowing!

  25. serapart February 26, 2012 at 09:15 #

that looks like a chloe bag to me … ;)

  26. Yeliz February 26, 2012 at 09:29 #

She looks absolutely great! I’m so glad that she didn’t opted for black shoes and a black clutch. This yellow clutch is to die for and the wedges.. Well they’re a little heavy but totally working with the overall look.

  27. Ramsay February 26, 2012 at 09:53 #

Amazing – i think she looks absolutely lovely – BDOTW

  28. Parvati February 26, 2012 at 10:18 #

Great look! The bright and fun accessories really make the difference!

  29. Francois B February 26, 2012 at 12:34 #

I loooove the styling! It makes this classic outfit more interesting!

  30. Bellatrix February 26, 2012 at 13:06 #

Beautiful! Kirsten looks fantastic, the dress, the blazer, the hair, the make up and the confidence!

  31. gurlygurl February 26, 2012 at 13:14 #

Great look!! … Except for those shoes! I love the print but it ends there. The rest of the look is sleek and modern but the “quirky” shoes are just bulky.

  32. Rita S. February 26, 2012 at 15:15 #

Love it! This look is perfection. I even love the wedges.

  33. Jen February 26, 2012 at 17:07 #

yellow clutch, yes, shoes, no. They look like something more appropriate to the 13 to 15 set.

  34. Tahj February 26, 2012 at 18:29 #

I just love the simplicity of the white blazer with the black dress. It’s so effortlessly chic. I could do without the wedges though.

  35. EmmaWoodhouse February 26, 2012 at 18:31 #

I would love it if the skirt were longer (this is in Lea Michele territory) and those clunky wedges were a cute pair of printed pumps.

  36. Lee February 26, 2012 at 18:34 #

I love this look. I’m probably biased because it’s hard to criticize someone who is so happy and glowing. I even like the shoes, the pattern is perfect, and I think they work with the outfit. It’s the Spirit Awards, I think she nailed the vibe.

  37. Hisadora February 26, 2012 at 22:32 #

She looks so damn pretty in this picture!!! I love her styling, very cute and new from her!

  38. Moxie February 26, 2012 at 22:34 #

Love it from the ankles up. The shoes are great, but too clunky for this outfit. At least she isn’t wearing black pumps.

  39. Viola February 27, 2012 at 06:42 #

    LOVE her in yellow

  40. Elle February 27, 2012 at 13:09 #

I love everything!….except the shoes which are straight from the 1990′s…clunky, daisies…yuck.

  41. Alexa March 30, 2012 at 02:30 #

Does ANYONE know what brand those wedges are? I absolutely must have them. I am not even kidding.
