The Christian Dior Spring 2011 Couture collection had its second outing this week courtesy of Asian actress Ni Ni.
She hit the red carpet during the 2012 Berlinale Film Festival for ‘The Flowers of War’ premiere wearing a strapless Dior Couture blue-and-black gown accented with feathers and a rise-and-fall skirt which falls from the empire waist.
The gown looks stunning on the runway, but kinda lacklustre on Nini, as she doesn’t have enough presence to carry that layered skirt.

this is a gorgeous Galliano´s creation!!! i want Galliano´s comeback please!!!
Oh, I love it. Agreed, though- it is a little less dazzling on her than it is on the runway, but it’s still gorgeous.
i don’t like the shoe choice. The look fairly flat.
I like this a lot. I like it a lot better than Michelle Williams’ dress, which I preferred on the runway over on her. I think she carries it very well. The shoes, hair and necklace are perfectly complimentary. It is true that the skirt lost some of its volume, which is unfortunate, but she still looks great.
My eyes just can’t get over those horrible shoes.
Nor can mine, Nadine. Granny shoes. *shudder*
It feels like a deflated balloon on her
+1
I kinda think she does have the presence to carry it off. It looks beautiful on her and she poses she elegantly.
I should add that I see no difference between how she carried it off and how Michelle Williams carried hers off. They both seem to have lost a bit of the runway flair, but in my view both are still elegantly displayed.
I do think she’s posed well. It’s possible she’s just slightly too short for the dress . . .
I totally agree with you, FC. It looks completely lackluster on Ni Ni and I don’t like the shoes she paired it with, either.
Bring back John!!!
I usually hate this type of hemline, but this one is fabulous. She isn’t quite selling it,but it still looks adorable on her.
I think she looks great. And it looks way better off the runaway.
What a waste of a dress on her – Really that could’be looked soooo much better
awww, give her a break. It’s only her first film festival and second red carpet appearance ever.
This dress looks so much better on her than her first dress …
I ADORED this line on the runway but so far no one has done it considerable justice
This was one of my favourites and it just seems so un-sultry on NiNi and the volume of the skirt is shocking, not to mention the shoes! Also for some reason the necklace and skirt length really irritates me… ah well. I must say all things considered she looked lovely. I do miss Galliano Dior though!
