Giles Mendel presented a truly elegant collection for J. Mendel Fall 2012.
The show opened with four all-white looks including a sleeveless coat, a cashmere fur-collared coat, a wool two-tiered jacket and a long cashmere cardigan before moving on to looks in black, maroon, gold, saffron, khaki and beige.
For a fall collection, everything felt very light.
Models walked the runway wearing lighter-than-air chiffon dresses, fur coats, tailored coats and jersey dresses.
The young and elite clientele will love his mini dress with full skirts and daring cuts, as well as the hot black panelled alligator jacket which was paired with a matching dress.
J. Mendel’s signature luxurious outerwear included fur coats and vests that came in different style and colours.
Gowns had plunging necklines, fully embroidered sequins, gold lame inserts, cut-out details, draped details and beaded embellishments which said, “Hello Taylor Swift”.

2, 4, 30 and 43 were my favorites! I don’t like all of it but I do enjoy his effortlessly luxurious esthetic
Great collection, love the fur
Yes, that dress for Kate Beckinsale!
That white dress with the gold accents would also look fab on Angelina Jolie
We have to make Taylor Swift in that yellow dress happen. Gilles Mendel never disapoints. He knows how to create a collection that appeals to so many different tastes and thats not something many designers can say.
Nailed it with the Taylor Swift prediction! Between the color, style and detail it screams her.
I think of Shailene Woodley now every time I see a strapless column gown! I think she’ll probably wear a similar dress to that yellow one at the Oscars, if she follows the pattern of the last few weeks.
Totally agree about the Kate Beckinsale gown, perfect for her!
Ditto, I would die if Kate wore that.
LOL Taylor Swift ended up wearing the white and gold hehe:)
