Leighton Meester In Prada – ‘The Woman Dress’ by Giada Colagrande Screening

Leighton Meester attended a screening of ‘The Woman Dress’ directed by Giada Colagrande.

This is the third in a series of short films directed by female filmmakers exploring women’s love affair with Miu Miu.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress looked breathtaking wearing a Prada Spring 2012 dress.

Her modified version has a deeper plunge, plus the print on the bodice differs but the pleated skirt, which is in a warm lemon colour, remains the same.

I love her chic updo and her red lips which matches her bag, but I’m not so crazy about the nude pumps.

Although I prefer the Leighton’s modified dress. I would happily swap the nude pumps for those runway strappy sandals.

Many of you disliked Leighton’s last look, so would you consider this an upgrade?

A major upgrade. This is charming !

Off topic, Alina, comments you and mj made on RCFA appeared in Elle (March issue with Blake on the cover, “Reply All” feature, p. 152). It’s a sidebar article about VB which mentioned Katy Perry wearing the Victoria cat print dress. The mag quoted your (& mj’s) comments about how Katy looked in the dress, with your name and the RCFA website. Saw it this am.

Not a big fan of this.. the top part looks like a bathing suit

    • Carolina February 15, 2012 at 13:34 #

Agreed. She’s cute but the outfit (including the shoes) appears very mismatched to me.

  3. Ahot February 15, 2012 at 12:34 #

Now the dress is more like it. But the hair! I just don´t get it. Matrony hairdo & ugly pointy shoes almost ruin everything. The only explanation: she is having a plain jane phase. Please bring edgysexycool Leighton back!

  4. Emi February 15, 2012 at 12:37 #

She looks adorable! I wasn’t one those who disliked the other look, but this is better anyway. I love it from head to toe.

  5. Emi February 15, 2012 at 12:38 #

From head to ankles, the shoes are not very beautiful, honestly.

  6. xenya February 15, 2012 at 12:45 #

Wow, that’t a difficult dress to pull off.
However she does that and looks angelic.
    BDOTW.

Oh I love this a lot, she looks stunning. I much prefer Leighton’s version of the dress and this is far better than her previous look. I don’t like the shoes but I’m not paying attention to them. Her hair and makeup is flawless.

  8. akyla February 15, 2012 at 12:52 #

    beautiful! looking fresh

  9. carine February 15, 2012 at 12:55 #

this is stunning! i love the styling and leighton looks breathtaking indeed. she redeems herself wearing this prada dress. the shoes are not bad, but they are not to die for either :)

  10. Kaylie February 15, 2012 at 13:06 #

The pointy nude pumps kill the look for me. I can’t not see them.

  11. mick February 15, 2012 at 13:06 #

I’m not sold on the modified bodice, but overall I quite like the look, also hair and makeup are cute. But i just can’t overlook those hideous shoes, what was she thinking? Prada’s shoes for S/S 12 are the most amazing thing, she should have picked those

  12. Hermione Weasley February 15, 2012 at 13:07 #

She looks like a doll. Love it!

  13. Shaina February 15, 2012 at 13:13 #

This I love! The modified version is so much prettier on Leighton. I also love her hair. The nude pumps I can overlook.

  14. Lauren February 15, 2012 at 13:19 #

I love this look! Something about it reminds me of Snow White!

    • fer February 15, 2012 at 15:51 #

      me too!

    • Naomi February 15, 2012 at 16:42 #

      Me three!
Probably the yellow skirt and blood-red lips.
Thank god this outfit doesn’t have blue in it or it would have been borderline costume…
      :)

    • Lou February 16, 2012 at 07:59 #

That’s the first thing that struck me too! I still love this look on her nonetheless!

  15. ClaraAnne February 15, 2012 at 13:26 #

I like the original version perhaps because of the striking red and navy. Leighton’s ballerina look is lovely though, she’s exciting to watch on the red carpet always!

Yay she’s back on form! I’ve missed her being this good.

  17. Natalie February 15, 2012 at 14:18 #

I love this! but the shoes are a little disappointing because her shoes are always so beautiful.

  18. mimi cracra February 15, 2012 at 15:00 #

    stunning! so fresh

  19. allieh February 15, 2012 at 15:12 #

This is amazing on her! She looks HOT. seriously what a sexy fit on the bodice. Personally i ger the shoes because its got a lot going on so it needs a nude shoe. That runway shoe is not attractive. In general i think the dress is more flattering on leighton than on the model.

  20. DivaDebbi (Beauty and Fashion Blog) February 15, 2012 at 15:40 #

I love it. Completely fresh. Im blocking out the shoes.

  21. Hannah February 15, 2012 at 15:58 #

I like it, but she can do better.
Also, what has happened to her shoe game?
That beign said, as always I am excited for her next outing, and I cannot wait for her at the Met Gala this year, she is one of the few we can rely on to take a risk, sucessful or not.

  22. Andreea February 15, 2012 at 16:08 #

I love the whole look, including the shoes.

  23. b February 15, 2012 at 16:13 #

OMG she looks stunning!! The dress is zillion times better on her than the model. And I like her shoes choice. Sandals will only add the girliness to this already girly look.

  24. justme February 15, 2012 at 16:18 #

I don’t approve of the shoes, especially since it’s Leighton but everything else works for me. She looks stunning.

  25. marie February 15, 2012 at 16:21 #

she is so precious! BDOTW for sure. i really enjoy this new styling direction. i just wish the bangs would grow faster…i just don’t get them. the shoes are pretty safe….i hope she did not lose her skills. after all, she is the reigning queen of best shoes closet!

  26. Naomi February 15, 2012 at 16:30 #

One of her best looks e-v-e-r.
    (Except those horrible nudes!!)

    • gabis February 16, 2012 at 12:09 #

+1. BDOTW material for me despite the pumps which are kind of flattening her feet lol…

  27. andrea February 15, 2012 at 16:38 #

I’m not a fan of the modified bodice, it went from a fabulous eye-catching color blocked tank to a cheap revealing leotard.

  28. lu February 15, 2012 at 16:43 #

Love it! she looks way better than the model! very disapointing choice of shoes, true, but overall she looks stunning!

  29. priyanka February 15, 2012 at 16:51 #

she looks beautiful, but those shoes are way too matronly for the dress. her look at the vera wang show was much better!

    • Ily February 15, 2012 at 17:52 #

she looks stunning!!! ITA: but “her look at the vera wang show was much better!”

    • marie February 15, 2012 at 19:09 #

the vera wang outfit was so bold. loved the tower high yellow heels…they were special!

  30. fromchi-town February 15, 2012 at 17:38 #

Love this – she looks great!!

  31. Gillian February 15, 2012 at 17:39 #

I actually find this cute very sophisticated, but very whimsical at the same time. I actually like the shoes with this dress, and it’s a very charming look:D

  32. Emalie February 15, 2012 at 17:53 #

She looks so cute! From the ankles up that is, those shoes make my eyes hurt.

It’s a nice and different look but I prefer what she wore to Vera Wang’s show.

  33. Yeliz February 15, 2012 at 18:08 #

The dress suits her perfectly but I don’t like neither the shoes nor the bag.

  34. EmmaWoodhouse February 15, 2012 at 19:28 #

If the top weren’t so revealing (really, that is a LOT of skin) and she had worn different shoes, I would have liked it. Her bangs look good here–soft and natural.

  35. Carrie February 15, 2012 at 20:04 #

I loved it, but I agree with the shoes. Not a big fan of the nude in this outfit.
I like how she was dressed on Vera Wang’s show.

  36. anna February 15, 2012 at 20:06 #

I call his look “blair meets serena” LOL
    but I liked it!

    • Ana February 15, 2012 at 21:24 #

      LOL, I liked too

  37. shank February 15, 2012 at 20:53 #

the moment is saw this i thought it was christina hendricks…is it just me????

  38. Parvati February 15, 2012 at 21:17 #

This is a great look! The dress is beautiful and it’s a good thing she had it modified, because the runway version looks really unflattering. She is a BDOTW contender for me!

  39. Ariel February 15, 2012 at 22:05 #

Wasn’t she the shoe queen or something? I expect better shoes! Those are just too pointy! But she looks great!

  40. eliona February 15, 2012 at 23:07 #

i do think she looks great, but it just reminds me of Snow White. . . albeit a more revealing snow White.

  41. 2c February 15, 2012 at 23:10 #

    BDOTW
    love everything about this look!

  42. jas February 16, 2012 at 02:18 #

the styling of the dress makes her look kinda old lady. maybe if the dress was a little shorter it would be funner

  43. summer February 16, 2012 at 09:45 #

    she’s perfect
    FC where’s wera wangs outfit
    we wondering yellow shoes:)

  46. Linda February 16, 2012 at 21:35 #

Lovely. I don’t even mind the nude pumps. She looks beautiful.

  47. nadine February 17, 2012 at 01:43 #

So pretty & fresh, didn’t even mind the shoes!

  48. Lucía February 19, 2012 at 21:55 #

I liked the previous look and I like this one. I love how she keeps things interesting, you know she’s not going to be boring. She might not always look perfect, but there’s something refreshing about her. However I do think she looks really pretty here, the top she’s wearing is so much nicer than the one on the runaway and so is the shape of the skirt. What bothers me about the shoes is not so much the color but the fact that they’re so pointy (I have something against pointy shoes, but that’s just me).
