Jenny Packham Fall 2012

Jenny Packham was the only designer who could get me up at 9am on Monday morning after the BATFAs and Grammys marathon.

The designer, who has dressed everyone from Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge to Angelina Jolie, is always on my list of must-sees during Fashion Week.

As the models took to the runway through the smoke-filled exit with mellow jazz music playing in the background, it became very apparent why Dita Von Teese was in the front row.

With models’ hair styled into victory rolls and deep Bordeaux pouts, the designer showcased a 40s-inspired collection which reflected the mood of Film Noir.

The runway was filled with many red-carpet-worthy gowns, some with edgy silhouettes such as crystal and studded beading or exaggerated shoulders.

Plunging necklines and open backs showcased plenty of skin, but this collection wasn’t just for the temptresses.

Pretty pastel pieces showed that Jenny didn’t stray too far from her sweet, feminine aesthetic.

Alongside the gowns and cocktail dresses were jumpsuits with beaded collars, ladylike separates and feminine mini dresses in demure abstract prints.

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Dita von Teese, Carrie Underwood, Mandy Moore, Taylor Swift, Kerry Washington, Elisabeth Moss, Reese Witherspoon, Cat Deeley, Eva Mendes, Anne Hathaway and Paula Patton
