Jessica Chastain In Alexander McQueen – BAFTA Nominees Party

Prior to attending the 2012 BAFTA Awards, Jessica Chastain attended the BAFTA Nominees Party held in London on Saturday night.

The nominated actress wore an all-red version of an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 dress.

With such a simple silhouette, Jessica’s look would have been much more interesting had opted for the original pattern.

A harness-inspired belt and black peep-toes accessorized the look.

It’s too bad that she’s allergic to carrying a clutch on the red carpet, as an Alexander McQueen skull-clasp clutch made for a perfect finishing touch.

I’m kind of upset that she didn’t wear the original pattern. It looks amazing!

Ditto. That pattern looks very intricate and interesting.

      Another ditto. Love the pattern!
The solid dress is something of a yawn.

The dress on the model is awesome. The dress on Jessica is boring and I bought an exact Calvin Klein replica for $39.99 last week for church.

she looks beautiful but I also wish she’d wear the original pattern, its more interesting and also the color looks more of a deep red in the model.

I’m not even going to mention the lack of print, as far as I am concerned, she is taking baby steps. As long as she isn’t in her red carpet rut that she was in a few weeks ago, I’m fine.
Besides, maybe she is preparing us for a great oscar look, clutch and all.

Don`t mind the non-print version on Jessica at all – with the simplicity of the dress more attention is drawn to her face and red hair with the harness belt providing enough of an edge. It`s the mumsy length-shoes combo that bothers me, a more interesting shoe choice would`ve elevated this look a bit.

A great necklace or earrings would have been nice also.

Allergic to a clutch! LOL crack me up, FC!

Love this dress–the solid is great, the belt is cool, but it’s so hard to get sold on a redhead in red for me. It really seems to wash her out…I also wish she had a clutch but that’s just wishful thing. I like the peep-toes here.

She should defninitely have opted for the original pattern. The black lace made the dress so much more beautiful and interesting!

Sigh. Bored- why oh why would you not wear the original pattern?? If she wanted a plain dress, there’s an equally beautiful navy and purple in this collection.

“It’s too bad that she’s allergic to carrying a clutch” and this is why I love reading your blog FC. You put so much personality into this, you always make me smile!

I think this is her style – simple and … without clutch. :)
