Whilst Gabrielle Union opted for head-to-toe black on the red carpet for the ‘Think Like A Man’ LA premiere yesterday evening, Jennifer Hudson was more playful with a mix of colours.
You clearly hated her Roberto Cavalli gown from the previous night, so I’m keen to hear your views on her Gucci Resort 2012 look.
A simple white tee was teamed with a tiered beige-and-yellow pleated skirt.
The look probably wasn’t summery enough for the singer as she added a large ocean-blue statement necklace, which matched her oversized bow-front Giuseppe Zanotti platforms.
I see where Jennifer was going with this look, but the accessories kill it.
For some reason I can picture Jordin Sparks rocking this look well, but Jennifer gets a thumbs down.
Sporting shorter crimped hair, she completed her look with hooped earrings and a stack of silver bracelets.
Thumbs up or down?

I hate this too.
I dont like this look on her.
I love that sunshine skirt, its flirty and fun! I think it’s refreshing to see Jennifer looking casual and less ‘done’.
Thumbs down! The necklace kills it, i would have preferred the beige belt and different earrings. I do love the shoes though.
Thumbs down, down, down, downtown. Those shoes and accessories ruined an incredibly gorgeous and chic outfit. I am absolutely in love head to toe with look book model, but I can’t help finding it a disaster on JHud.
Awful… why would she put that necklace over that outfit?!! And the Zanotti(s)??
I agree this is not Jennifer. she tried something new but it hurts to look at her. I think she put this together her self.
Meh
ugly except the shoes
It didn’t need a necklace or bracelet. Also surplus to requirements was a clashing colour platform for the shoes, a different shade of neutral/yellow perhaps and less heavy. I think the skirt suited the skinny, boyish shape of the model better. The humid hair needs to go too.
If she wants to keep the accessories, she should ditch the plain white T for a different blouse. But, it would take a sharp eye to find the right blouse that could tie all that together.
This would have been so much nicer and well executed had she chosen to go the minimalist route. It seems like she’s been trying new styles from the “short tight dresses” she sported for a while, so it only makes sense for her to take some time to come to another fashion persona that works for her.
She might have felt that accessories can lift any look and make her look more interesting – which might have crossed over from her larger days, since generally plus sized women are taught to use accessories to make their look chic, as there are few fashion forward options for them.
I feel like she’s heading towards the right direction, so it’ll be interesting to see how her style evolves
far too much going on….the styling is pulling in all sorts of directions
All she is missing are the pom poms. Painful.
I think it is lively and cute.
This would look cute on an 8-year-old, definitely not a grown woman.
i like this.
disastrously down
she cannot dress
And apparently neither can her stylist.
It’s interesting, the difference in comments depending on the celeb. Well, I like the color combination with the shoes and necklace, but the bracelets and earrings were too much.
This is a disaster. Ever since her weight loss, I feel like her style is going down hill really fast. She desperately needs a new stylist.
too many accessories kill it. earrings or necklace, or bracelets or necklace, not both, especially when they’re both attention grabbing
In theory, it’s a cute look, but it’s not working of her. Short skirt, tight shirt, OTT accessories, big hair–she looks like she just came from a mall.
I LOVE this. Something must be wrong with me, because I love everything about it. If I had to take anything away, it would be the necklace.
I would imagine this outfit on someone like Blake Lively out for a casual stroll.
her hair look horrible !!!!
the skirt is cute but the styling kills the look
the whole look , looks chunky not funky
Hmmm, a bit of a hodge-podge here. I see her Weight Watchers commercials and love how she is styled for those – a little sleeker, fitted but not suffocatingly tight, fewer accessories. The thing is, she is tall enough that she can carry off statement pieces. But here, the beautiful statement necklace is less impactful amidst the clutter. I like that she is switching up from pure body-con looks and is experimenting.
Thumbs down for me. Nothing works on this look.
Only Jennifer Hudson can make a Gucci outfit look like something from charlotte russe or wet seal. Fail, again.
i love the skirt so much and i think it looks nice with the plain tee but her finishing touches are messing up her outfit, the shoes and the necklace must go!
ok, let’s ‘think like a man’: I love the legs and the boobs
