Carine Roitfeld also attended the amfAR New York Gala on Wednesday night.
What would a fashion event be without a little Carine?
The former French Vogue Editor-In-Chief wore a Givenchy Spring 2012 Couture look that is slightly modified from the look presented as she swapped the cold-shoulder top for a white silk shirt and lace-detailed camisole combo.
She kept the presented black wool pants which are embroidered with three-dimensional flower elements made of caged jet crystals and studs.
The detailed couture look was paired with black leather opera gloves and black suede leather sandals.
This look is 100% Parisian chic, and perfect for Carine.

This is a nice departure for Carine. Softer and more relaxe then usual.
I’m glad she modified from cold shoulder shape but I wish had kept the embroidery of the top. As it is, it’s still a good look.
P.S – are gloves a new trend or just a trend for the over 45s?
lol @ are gloves a new trend or just a trend for the over 45s
apparently so
I love gloves, I just did a beaded pair that are to die for and oh dear, I am over 45, but I love the class of the look, I just can’t help it.
This woman’s face clearly demonstrates that she is the female version of Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. CAN NO ONE ELSE SEE IT?
THANK YOU. I’ve never understood this woman’s appeal- her bushy brows and messy hair always bring to mind a cross between Iggy Pop and someone raised in the wild by wolves. Oh well…
IGGY POP. That’s it. That’s exactly who she looks like. I couldn’t think of it – and I even SAW the “Lust for Life” film clip today!
Iggy Pop…yes that is it
Carine has mentioned in interviews that people approach her to tell her she resembles Iggy, she is used to it.
I like this, save for the gloves, just not getting this trend….as TeaAtTwo says, maybe it’s an over 45 and veiny hands thing, but it’s a little too coy and weirdly off for my taste.
I love it, so chic!!!
Not quite sure about this look. I appreciate the relaxed vibe that Carine is pushing here, but I think that tucking the unstructured shirt into a floor-length skirt makes her look quite boxy through the body. And, for me, those gloves are fine because she is wearing Givenchy haute couture. White surgical gloves with an Oscar de le Renta gown, on the other hand …
completely agree. although it’s couture, i would’ve liked if the look — certainly, the shirt, but also the pants — got cut closer to her frame giving her the svelte air she normally has.
Works for her.
I think the shirt makes this look sloppy.
I agree with you, it does look sloppy and not chic.
Yes, I don’t like it. The gloves, her hands in her pockets, the shirt…it isn’t working. Looks *gasp* homemade!
Typic Carine, elegant and fashion! Love it
