As the face of the current Pomellato ad campaign, Tilda Swinton hosted a spectacular cocktail reception to celebrate the opening of Pomellato’s West Coast flagship boutique on Rodeo Drive yesterday evening.
For the event, which benefitted MOCA, the British actress wore a Lanvin Resort 2012 look.
The ivory silk tuxedo jacket and matching pants look more like silk pyjamas, but I think Tilda just about gets away with the look due to her accessories which include Lanvin mocha satin pumps and Pomellato jewels.
Does she get away with it? Or can you only see PJs?

I love Tilda, but I’m not sure about this one
+1, this is verging on pjs and is a bit blah for me
I’ve done a complete 180 on her. I used to just avoid posts about her but now I anticipate them. Love her so much.
Only Tilda could pull it off. It’s perfect.
+1
i am tilda’s greatest fan, i think she is a spectacular actress and an incredibly stylish woman, but when i first saw this a few days ago i saw pyjamas and the feelings remain! the hair and accessories don’t really elevate this for me!
Can`t even look past her masculine slouch with her thumbs in the pockets.
I find this to pyjama like. Definitely not her best.
All I see is boring! Disappointed in that myself.
I agree with FC, she just squeaks by with this due to the shoes and jewellery.
Of course she can….she is the face of Pomellato…m’ama non mama!
Totally PJs. Still have faith in Tilda’s daring, innovative fashion choices on the red carpet. Just not this time.
It’s a beautiful look but she’s only just pulled it off. A nice statement necklace with a pop of colour would have given it that extra boost. Still, I admire her style.
I like it!
got away with it! downright stole it.
I only see PJs. Maybe if it was more structured, like the kind of shut princess Mary wore lately, but this soft silk boyfriend blazer is not working for me whatsoever! Awful.
With Tilda, I am generally torn between, “this is terrible” and “she can do anything.” I don’t know–I really shouldn’t, but I kind of think this is chic. I think it’s her good styling.
She should have tucked in the shirt.
