Mia Wasikowska joined fellow Aussies Miranda Kerr and Cate Blanchett on the red carpet for the 2012 AAVTA Awards in Sydney, Australia.
Sporting a rockabilly hairstyle, the actress wore a Miu Miu Spring 2012 dress.
The face of Miu Miu’s Spring 2012 ad campaign may look amazing in her shoot, but that quirky sensibility hasn’t translated quite so well on the red carpet.
This look doesn’t appeal to me at all.
Even with the bold red lip colour, she’s washed out by the rose pink and white of her dress.
The ankle strap shoes, which blend into her feet, were also an unfortunate choice.
I’m sure she will get another chance to redeem herself before her term is up.

The dress is quite strange on her, and the make up is terrible…
I’m…just glad to see her in some color? But I am a Mia Apologist.
Haha. I am a Mia apologist too, but this look can’t be saved. You’re right, though, the rose color is pretty!
oh no! I don´t like anything about this look, the dress looks so wrong, hate the shoes, makeup and hair are bad also. It´s a shame because she is so pretty and lovely!
I love Mia’s aesthetic and her work, but this dress really does nothing for her. It’s a strange cut that I imagine would make anyone look boxy. I don’t find it at all flattering on her or on the model.
Mia looks like an odd character from a Charles Dickens book. This look is a fail. She’s like a young Meryl Streep – absolutely gifted in her trade, but neither interested in fashion nor naturally endowed for fashionable looks (unlike Kristen Stewart).
Bad.
Really bad.
The dress itself is so lovely, but the fit on the chest is a bit strange, considering the runway. But the hair, the make up and the shoes are terrible. Such a cute dressed ruined…
I agree with the points you made FC. I don’t like this at all.
This dress sucks regardless. What on earth was the designer thinking?
