Elle MacPherson joined Tess Daly and Laura Whitmore on the red carpet for the 2012 National Television Awards in London last night.
She wore a Tom Ford Fall 2011 gunmetal-grey embellished gown with a high neckline, which we’ve already seen on Anne Hathaway.
I didn’t like it back then and I dislike it even more now, especially with that braid accented ponytail.
What really kills Elle’s look for me is the inclusion of the diamond-encrusted statement earrings with so much embellishment on the neckline.
Too much of a muchness.

This is one major sparkle & embellishment overload. No need for those statement earrings whatsoever, agree, should´ve ditched them along with that braid ponytail, and opted for a more dramatic makeup instead.
The dress is really gorgeous, but Elle’s exaggerated – and may I say slightly tacky – style just totally ruins it.
she looks like Ursula Andress… Btw she reminds me of the old Thierry Mugler style in George Michael’s “Too Funky” video… come on, she can afford it, she’s a UberModel!

I only like the gorgeous dress and the make up. Ugly hairstyle, ugly shoes, wrong clutch, the dress should have spoken itself.
+1. I don’t hate the dress. I hate how it was styled.
The ponytail kills it. I always feel like she dresses and styles herself too young, so it comes off as kind of cheap and tacky. It’s totally possible to be sexy, fun and age appropriate.

I hated this on Anne Hathaway and it’s even worse here! This is such an ugly dress–constrictive and unflattering.
The only people I can picture this being a great dress for are Cher and Jane Fonda.
Oh my goodness! Those earrings are a big statement! Those are Elizabeth Taylor’s diamond chandelier earrings that sold at an auction. Was Elle the buyer or did she borrow these from a jewelry company.

I liked this on Anne Hathaway on TV, it looks worse in pics. Elle’s styling is terrible.
Well you need a killer bod to pull this off … Check – she certainly is a stunningly beautiful woman check – she was never famius for her excellent taste check … She used to be a model all they do is wear clothes…
I like it much better on Elle’s body than Anne’s. The styling is not good, but I like the dress, it is still winter after all.
Not a fan of that look, either. But BOY, her face looks more youthful than mine and I am less than half her age!

Wow, the Tom Ford asthetic has really descended into tackiness. I think the dress would be improved if one element was removed: maybe the sleeves, or the sheerness in the body, IDK. But the lace plus the sheerness plus the sleeves plus the beading is exhausting! Her overstyling does not help.

I think the main problem is the dress, I imagine that even with good styling, the dress itself is not flattering, it’s restrictive, the color is the ugly grey, it’s a tad short.

When you cover up Elle’s or the model’s head and just look at the dress… it is massively fugly – such a bad choice

i think she looks fantastic. that dress hugs her in all the right places and while it looks like a bit too much in some respects, i don’t think a girl like elle macpherson ever goes unnoticed regardless of what she wears. she loves the flashbulbs and they love her back. this look matches her persona perfectly.
When the collection came out, I didn’t mind the dress but I wasn’t a huge fan with Anne wore it and this is even worse with the bad hair and the earrings. There are a lot of worst dressed contenders this week lol.
