Georges Hobeika Spring 2012 Couture

Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika presented his Spring 2012 Couture collection during Paris Fashion Week yesterday evening.

This season he seduced us with slender silhouettes which exuded femininity and sensuality with touches of creative flair such as bold shoulders and fan-pleated bodices.

The presentation started off strong with one of my favourite looks from this collection: a t-shirt-style dress with a top embellished with beads and orchid appliqués and a luxurious skirt with shredded layers to give it a feather-like effect.

The designer was inspired by the exotic beauty, passion and grace of orchids on a colour palette of lemon, peach, white, ice blue and snapdragon green.

We saw orchids accent waistbands and necklines and decorate the skirts, jackets and bodices of the cocktail dresses and gorgeous gowns presented.

With award season in full swing, I can picture many looks from this collection heading down a red carpet at the Kodak Theatre very soon.

The models hair was pulled back in a low bun with daisy accents. White pumps with metallic gold or silver accents completed the look.

Favourites: The snapdragon-green jacket and skirt (for Angelina Jolie) and the embellished top with layered skirt.

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Kate Beckinsale, Andrea Riseborough, Emmy Rossum, Eva Longoria, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Angelina Jolie, Shailene Woodley, Jessica Alba, Diane Kruger and Fan Bingbing.
