After having such a great start to award season, Shailene Woodley arrived at the 2012 Producers Guild Awards on Saturday in Beverly Hills, California wearing a look which fails to excite.
She wore a Valentino Pre-Fall 2011 black velvet dress which isn’t particularly flattering.
The look may have been improved had she opted for the roped belt as worn by the model, but I think I’m just clutching at straws here.
The good things about her look are her Sergio Rossi ‘Ophidia’ cage sandals and the luscious rich red lip colour.
It’s a shame the dress didn’t live up to the shoes and makeup.

This is pretty bad, disappointing. Wearing an oversized shapeless top as a dress doesn´t cut it. The black fabric ages her, and the rich red lipcolour doesn´t suit her either.
I agree with Nat39. The dress is horrid. It’s not age appropriate or figure appropriate. That’s a dress I’d see someone in their 70s or 80s wearing, if that.
My immediate thought was ‘oh god, no’, a sack is a sack even if it’s velvet Valentino. Pretty shoes though.
Disappointing. However, that mustard yellow Burberry trench coat on your favorites list is no disappointment at all! It is gorgeous! Good pick, FC.
this is bad. very bad
Very unflattering. I only like the shoes. The dress is shapeless and unflattering on her, a belt was very necessary. I don’t even like the red lips. This look ages her.
Horrible.
Nobody under the age of 40 should wear velvet. Period.
Just terrible. It’s like a big, over-sized sweatshirt! Plus, her makeup looks caked on here.
She’ll bounce back, though!
Oh good grief, what on earth happened? She was doing so well! The is bad, this is really bad. First of all why is this beautiful young girl wearing velvet, secondly she is being smothered by the dress. Love the shoes. Praying that this is just a bad day and she will snap back
this so called dress looks like a sac of potatoes.awful!
