Zooey Deschanel, who’s nominated for Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series – Comedy Or Musical for ‘New Girl’, took to the red carpet tonight for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.
She wore a custom Prada dark green silk dress with an open back.
The black satin dress has black and emerald green glass pearls decorated bodice which has an ivory pearl embroidered collar.
She complemented the look with an emerald green glass pearls Prada rectangular clutch and Prada heels.
I’m sure many of you won’t like Zooey’s hair, but I love the 60s bouffant with the vampy makeup.

love the hair/make-up!…this feels fresh and a little bit different for Zoey, very nice.
I love that even in a long dress she still remains true to herself. So charming! Wonder if she’s wearing tights under that
love the dress, hate the wig.
Ugh…I’m usually a fan of Zooey’s retro quirky look but this looks like a Star Trek prom dress! The acid green embellishments against the black is particularly unattractive. Her makeup is too harsh but I do think the lob is cute
i don’t like one thing about the look, usually i like quirky color combos from prada, but black satin with green beading is where i draw the line. the back is hideous, her 60s hair and make up are too much then she topped it off with a bright green clutch. i love zooey but this is not my cup of tea.
I’m indifferent to the hair, I’m way more interested in this bodice of this dress, it’s stunning. Had the skirt been in green I would have been on the floor.
Omg! Never seen zooey look this great! The dress is great, the clutch matches it beautifully too! Love it!
LOVE. Fresh, different from everything on the red carpet, and different from her, too. The bangs are tad too big, but I don’t care, I LOVE.
Wow I hardly recognized her with the hair, clothes, and again THE HAIR! She looks great. It’s refreshing! Kudos to her, maybe it’s in connection with her recent split? Anyway, wish her well. She looks so hip!
Her hair and makeup may work with the overall look but are not particularly flattering for her face which is always a bottom line for me.
I love this look on Zoey. Its different, but fresh still. Her eyes look stunning with that makeup and hair.. Love it all.
This is one of my fave looks of the night. Everything works here.
I agree. Plus, the back of the dress is surprisingly sexy for Zooey. Love it.
Just, no.
Reminds me of a mermaid.
The more I look at this, the more I like it!
i love it
I love everything about this look. The hair is beautiful and it fits her quirky style very well. The dress is amazing and I very much like the addition of the emerald clutch.
I really like this look on her. Very mod!
Love the dress.. its so different!
I love this. She looks adorable and edgy
This was my favorite look of the night, with Octavia being a close second, and Claire Danes being third
She looks like a man in drag. She’s a gorgeous girl but that wig is RIDICULOUS and I can’t focus on anything else but the dress itself is pretty ugly too.
It’s a dress I appreciate rather than like. The hair is very That Girl.
You’re so right! She reminded me of Marlo Thomas in That Girl, too! I loved her look – really fun!
Very Zooey. She’s cute, and this is a sharp look on her.
LOVE the dress and the clutch is the perfect complement. The hair is also very cute, but seen from the side those little pieces looked a bit like muttonchops.
I think she’s trying to look like Katy Perry so that people don’t constantly ask her about her divorce.
Oh ….
Seriously, I laughed out loud when I saw this look, its that bad.
I wish the make up was toned down and the hair pulled up so the dress could stand alone. The dress is gorgeous but I’m so distracted by her hair and face.
the hair is fine … it just doesn’t go with this look.
This is one of my favorites of the evening. Zooey reminds me so much of a young Marlo Thomas with the hair and makeup.
She is so lovely. It’s good to see a change.
Her hair is gorgeous, but what is going on here? Is it a wig? A bad blow-out? The sideburns were a bit jarring. I’m also not a fan of the very dark liner (or mascara?) on her eyes – it makes them look smaller. The dress is something different on her, but I find myself liking the back better than the front!
Fresh and quirky.
I was really hoping she would wear something fun and unique–this dress is neither
I try and try and try…but I can’t find anything apealing in this look.
I usually love zoey’ style, but not this time. it’s a pity.
This was a hard one. I do love the dress, especially the back and she looks awesome in it but I am not loving the hair and makeup a whole lot. Looking through the Getty images though it isn’t too bad at all. I usually love Zooey’s looks but not thrilled this time. I loved seeing Emily too
