Rooney Mara In Nina Ricci – 2012 Golden Globe Awards

Best Actress nominee Rooney Mara walked the red carpet at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards in LA this evening.

The moment we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived – unsurprisingly, Rooney decided to stick with her usual minimalistic look.

Rooney chose a self-described “comfortable” in her black Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2012 gown with a plunging neckline and bow ribbon detailing

This is a subtle, girly detail from the stoic actress.

Her hair was styled in a lacquered, side-parted ponytail and natural makeup.

Fred Leighton jewels completed her look.

I love this look. It’s not different from what we are used to seeing her wear, but it works for her, so that’s fine for me. It’s a pretty dress and she totally pulls it off. I also like that she’s finally wearing slightly more make-up. I just wish she would smile more.

I am not tired of her minimalist looks yet! Still loving it!

I don’t care what anyone says – I love her style! Boring for some…lovely for me! The beauty is in the simplicity 🙂

She looks fantastic, I think this is my favorite look from her. I am not ever really impressed with her but I do particularly like this gown. The details are gorgeous.

She still looks uneasy on the red carpet. Kinda stiff. There’s also another picture of her with her hands at the sides. Relax! I wish I’ll see a pop of color in her wardrobe later on.

boring as usual. nothing is exciting about this look, she looks so bored.

God, just when I thought I’d be more pleased to see her around. Oh well, c’est la vie.

Behold, Rooney Salander at the Awards. Come on, it´s time to shine. This is not a minimalistic look, this is an unfinished look, it´s easy – just look at the model, then ditch all accessories and choose a hairstyle out of the 2 available options and voila. Some simple finishing touches – at least a clutch (!)- wouldn´t have hurt.

FC… what jewelry? I look at all the pics and couldn’t spot a simple ring. Sigh. Rooney just doesn’t have the red carpet presence yet. Kind of reminds me KStewart in her first days – with better dresses choices, of curse.

LOL, maybe she didn’t get paid to wear or bother to borrow any jewelry

ooh I really liked this dress when I saw it a few days ago, what a treat to see it on RC so soon. I do wish there was a bit of colour somewhere though

Not her best ever, i thought she would wear givenchy

    • Alina January 17, 2012 at 16:39 #

Givenchy would have been something else.

She should have swapped outfits and worn the red Valentino for this event after rather glorious departure this feels very deflating to look at.

Not wowed by this, I expected much more from her.

    • dedree January 16, 2012 at 01:45 #

      definitely agree!

Black, cut-out, minimalist. Aside from the fact that I don’t like the gown in itself, it is nothing new for Rooney. How about another look in the line of her red Valentino? THAT was something to get excited about!
