Last year’s Best Actress winner, Natalie Portman, returned to the red carpet for the 2012 Golden Globes Awards this evening.
The beautiful actress wore a Lanvin custom-made fuschia strapless gown with dramatic gathering on the hip and a red banded accent which matched her clutch.
This ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’ look is good, but not great.
I may have like this look more without the side detail.
Jimmy Choo ‘Macy’ sandals, diamond studded earrings, a tousled bun and neutral makeup finish the look.

hmmm nice, but not amazing.
I never noticed the beautiful colour of her eyes before though, so fuchsia is obviously a good colour for her
Agreed… her eyes are the winner for me. The dress is pretty but nothing I havent seen before.
Wow. This is a luscious, stunning look! The folds and draping may be understated, but altogether it makes a wonderful dress! a but this is definitely one of my favorite looks so far! I was turned off a little by the red accent on the dress until I saw the clutch, which pulls it together. Bravo. Maybe I’m gushing a bit, butshe looks like she’s channelling the fifties, which is one of my favorite fashion periods
i think if there was no red the look would have been too girly for a lanvin creation! alber elbaz knows exactly how to add a touch of sophistication to his designs and in this case he did it through color
this is very disappointing. i don’t like the color combination nor the cut.
She looks magnificent even though I really hate pink.
It`s a safe pretty in pink look, and I`ll safely forget it right after I submit this comment.
This dress looks so dated. Kill it with fire.
I don’t really like this at all. I think it looks like a prom dress, but her hair and makeup look gorgeous,
I absolutely love this. It’s 50′s in a good way, like a model at the house of Givenchy or Dior. With her elegant hair, make and poise she looks beautiful.
+1
The gown just flattered her. I like this better over Rooney’s gown. Sorry.
I do not think it does much for her figure. Pretty. That’s it.
I’m not one to complain about petite women wearing volumous dresses, but I think something is missing there, maybe a belt to give a tad more definition at the waist. The color is so good on her, though and I love the hair.
Can’t wait for your comments on Emma Stone and Helen Mirren, FC!
I adored this. The side detail jutted out a bit stiffly and too far, but other than that, I loved it.
I agree with Raquel. The dress and that colour look perfect on Natalie. It’s just missing some oomph.
Hate the dress, it’s such a shame because Natalie Portman has one of the most beautiful faces in Hollywood
Odd thing to wear when a Marilyn themed film is up for nominations. It’s the globes, not a dress up party.
i love the dress, i think she looks beautiful!
I agree, she looks stunning!
Classy. She reminds me of Audrey Hepburn here.
I can’t get excited with Natalie Portman. The fold looks unfinished, and the side detail seems unnecessary.
this dress reminds me of the mannekins in the fabric stores in my city’s garment district. They wrap and pin bolts of fabric around mannequins so that one might imagine a sheath dress. No cutting or sewing of darts to improve fit.
I like the dress a lot, she could have accessorized it more but still a great color.
