Kate Winslet went back to basic in black-and-white for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards this evening.
The winner of Best Actress in a made-for-TV movie or mini-series her role in HBO’s ‘Mildred Pierce’, wore a two-toned Jenny Packham dress.
Her dress with a black silk keyhole bodice and an ivory silk crepe skirt and a ribbon embellished with Swarovski crystals has a déjà vu feel to it.
This dress lacks the typical ‘princess’ feel of a Jenny Packham dress, but such a look would not suit Kate, but this figure-skimming gown is much more appropriate for the always elegant actress.
Roger Vivier Open Toe Epine heels, Fred Leighton jewels, a side-swept updo and glossy nude lips completed her look.

Kate has taken my breath away! STUNNING!!!
Kate is so beautiful, she makes anything look good. It also helps that this dress is stunning to begin with.
Feminine and elegant. The lady is always a class act.
Yes, there is a déjà vu feeling there, but it works well for her. At least it’n not another column dress. What I like the most about the whole look is that, usually, women with curves tend to wear light colors on top and dark ones on the bottom in order to make hips and tighs to look slimmer, but Kate did the opposite. It’s daring, really!
Very underwhelming not to mention that the very hip-widening white skirt is not a smart choice for the curvy Kate.
This is a hot mess. The bodice in particular…it looks way too small and keyhole is really unflattering.
Boring. She can do better than this. This is the Golden Globes! Bring out your best Kate!
