Claire Danes made her first red carpet appearance of 2012 at the AFI Awards in LA this afternoon.
The actress who tends to favour clean lines and lady-like silhouettes didn’t stray too far from her comfort zone wearing a white Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2012 dress with a plunging neckline and flared skirt.
Her pristine white dress was accessorized with a large navy belt, which matched her blue suede shoes and Pomellato ‘Nudo’ London blue topaz earrings.
The ‘Homeland’ actress certainly looks prim, proper and event appropriate. Everything we’ve come to expect from her.
Sleek hair and bronzed makeup complete the look.

Is it just me or are her hair & skin funny colors?
Agreed. It’s harsh and it ages her alot. The outfit is sweet though.
I like it from neck to toe… this is the first time I don’t like her make up, it’s so shiny that her skin seems oily.

I think her hair looks a bit parched. She kinda reminds me of Gwyneth Paltrow, with the over-shiny skin and slightly fried looking hair, deep plunge neckline and minimal silhouette. Gwynnie would have knocked the shoes outta the park, though!
Hard to find a dress that is slit to the midriff prim and proper, but I know get where you are going with that FC–I think it is the full skirt and the belt–there’s a June Cleaver like feel too it. I think she looks pretty, but she tends to go for pretty–it could be pushed up a notch.
Her hair color looks kind of funny. This is a great look, but she always poses so stiffly in pictures. Doesn’t look natural.
Love the dress, it’s very ‘her’ but I am shocked that nobody has commented on her face. Is it just me then? Because something is way off with her face. That does not look like Claire Danes. In fact, I gasped a bit when I paged down. Has she always had such deep nose to mouth lines? Maybe it’s something to do with her cheeks or chin? Fillers? I dunno but something’s up.

I would love this if the neckline was not so low. It’s kind of tacky imo. Also, the hair looks fake.
From the neck down, she looks amazing. I don’t know what’s going on with the makeup. Bad lighting?
I’m offended by the blue makeup matching the blue buckle and blue shoes. Can’t get past it …
