Vanessa Hudgens debuted a dramatic look at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live this evening.
The actress traded in her usual boho aesthetic for something a bit sexier, donning a slinky Jenny Packham Fall 2011 gown.
Her black sheer dress with a gold web-like embroidered detail was teamed with dangling gold earrings and black pumps.
Vanessa vamped up the gown with dark, smoky eyes and a sleek up-do.
Do you like this new look on Vanessa, or is it too costumey for you?

I kind of like it
She is too short for this dress (this coming from a short girl!) and she is overwhelmed by all the fabric. It looks like someone dressing up in grandma’s clothes.
I dig it! Shoes suck tho. I don’t understand, has no one heard of platform SANDALS?! Why always pumps? Geez, the amount of manicures and pedicures theses starlets get you’d think they’d want to show off their toes…
#EndRant
I don’t like it for some reason, just can’t put my finger on it…..
i don’t like that thing between her breast!
I like the dress all right.
It might have been a pretty good look had she not worn such clunky shoes.
Originally thought the sheerness was gold on my tv screen and was going to give her a solid A. It looked great in motion. However, in pictures, I’m not sold on the sheer at all. Still nice, but nothing truly great.
This got a wow from me, I love the dress, it’s elegant and femininely edgy, altho the shoes are too clunky for the fine details.
I like it. So much hate and critics here. tsc tsc
I feel this look is quite old fashioned now… late 2000′s when all red carpet dresses were bias cut, embelleshied and with a train.
Next.
I like the dress, but just not on her. I think it comes across as the dress wearing her instead of the other way around.
I think Vanessa looks stunning. It’s refreshing change from the boho style she’s been sporting lately and unexpected. I do agree, tho, that the dress is a bit too long for her but she pulls it off better than the model does. Strappy sandals would’ve been prefered too.
I like it. I think she’s beautiful. and I like her shoes as well.
Somehow she looks thick in this dress. Not a fan.
I’m not a fan of her style usually, but she looks beautiful here.
I like she transformed herself from the Boho look, to this glamorous, kinda girly look.
is anyone else getting an old school cher vibe from this?
minus the feather headdress, of course.
i like it! she does look good and at least she ditched the boho look for abit….
Too vamped up to the point of looking fake/costumey.
I agree!
I like this from the waist up. The shoes are a big let down. She needed something light to elongate her leg.
beautiful
I like it but it sits a bit high on her chest. Probably to counteract the fact that it’s too long for her but the longer straps would have helped to elongate her frame.
Personaly it’s not really my style. I think the dress make her shorter than she already is. And the shoes could be more modern and funny.
