Miley Cyrus’ red carpet looks are wildly predictable and mostly Roberto Cavalli.
That changed tonight at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards as the singer/actress donned a David Koma Spring 2012 dress.
I have never said the words Miley and fashion forward in the same sentence, but it applies in this case.
Her frock with futuristic cuts, draped details, mesh panels and dayglow accents is a refreshing change of pace for Miley.
I don’t think I could’ve coped with yet another plunging gown from her.
Jimmy Choo Tippi snake-effect leather pumps and a silver clutch accessorized her look whilst she swept her locks over one shoulder.
After Ginnifer Goodwin this was my second favourite look of the night.

my thoughts exactly on all accounts. i can’t stand her, but i can’t find fault with this. it’s sophisticated, clean, modern, appropriate, the styling is spot on, she’s not pouting like an idiot. although she’s come a long way, i did not know she had this in her.

Great dress on a great body for it let down by weak styling. The clutch and shoes both look cheap up close, and the hair is sort of tragically unfinished, throwing off her face. Good effort though.
Awesome dress and she looks fantastic. I love the multicolored panels, I would’ve kept the blue waistband though it added a little oomph.

A really great look – perfectly age appropriate.
Love the colour of the clutch with the dress, and the more traditional form against the modern embelishment of the dress.
Really modern and fresh, you can tell its a london designer, makes all the rest look like there going to a prom!

This is a really good look for her, the best in a long time. It is fashion forward and not try-hard sexy. Love the dress, it is so interesting and I love the colour of her Tippi pumps. Her hair and makeup is also really good. very surprised.
Very sharp indeed. The overall composition of this is good, although the dress by itself is not my favorite. She’s wearing it so well.

i’m not too sure about the sheer mesh panels on the sides — i liked the dress so much better when i didn’t realise they were there, but frankly miley knocked it out of the park this time.
I Adore it from the neck down, but the hair, which is an unusual medley of colours and a strange cut which makes it look like a cheap wig, and the makeup, which makes her look a little greasy, reall throw it off. I like the rest though.
I hate miley coz she stole my Liam.

How is a broad, sheer panel from neck to waist different from excessively plunging necklines? Sorry, but I cannot agree with others’ assessments of this look. I find it somewhat inappropriate. Otherwise, – a win on the hair, a low mark for excessive makeup, and a real win for the profile and cut of the dress.
I read many comments somewhere about how much some people hated the back of the dress. I liked the back of the dress.
