Berlin, Germany was the next stop on the promo tour for ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’.
Rooney Mara attended a photocall earlier today with co-star Daniel Craig and director David Fincher.
She wore a Miu Miu Spring 2012 two-piece which included a grey cropped top and a black flared skirt which she teamed with Miu Miu black strappy sandals.
My immediate reaction was to dislike this, but on second glance the sporty apparel is perfect for her as she clearly has the body to pull it off.
The look is very clean and fresh with neutral makeup and no accessories.
I’m hoping for some colour on the red carpet for the premiere. I think she’s well overdue a look that doesn’t have black in the colour palette.
I know many of you aren’t fans of exposed midriffs on the red carpet, so how do you feel about this look?

Very simple and chic. You’re right: she has the right figure to pull this off. I like it.
It looks so much better on the model. True, Mara has a great body but the top looks very sports bra-ish on her. Maybe if it was a little longer? Or if she pulled her skirt up a little more? Either way, I don’t like it on her at all. And the shoes must go… booties would have been cute!
I’m not sure about Rooney Mara’s style… I like the fact that she’s doing something different (being strong but delicate and ethereal at the same time) but I can’t “see” her personality at all. She always reminds me of the character/film she’s promoting. Is she going to show us something more earthly, natural, colorful… and happy after the tour ends?
Regarding this ensemble, I think it lacks styling. What about a clutch, some jewellery, some lipstick…? It feels empty
Agreed.
Feels a bit too clean, overly sporty and oversimplified without a standout hair or accessory. The bare midriff isn`t working, it only distracts. Not quite liking this.
I disagree with poster Amberly about the shoes, I think they’re fine and they actually compliment the neckline on the “sports bra” haha. Rooney does look a tad uncomfortable here though, maybe she is second guessing the exposed abs. Photocalls aren’t fancy events, but this outfit is more MTV awards to me.
Perfect for her and for Berlin!
I like the trend of exposed midriffs, if someone has the “physique du role” and I really like this look, form head to toe. She looks simple and feminine.
I like it.
Love love love she is already giving a run for best promo tour in my mind
I thought I was the only one haha. Glad I have a fellow Rooney believer.
+1. Basta with those bangs already.
I think this look is lovely. Very simplistic but with an edge. I agree that color is welcome but she looks lovely. I hope she keeps wearing lipstick–without it she looks ghost-like.
You are so right… who is the real Rooney? She seems stuck in character on this tour. Hopefully her personality will come out more in 2012
Maybe this IS her personality?
Not usually a fan of exposed midriffs but I gotta admit that she`s rocking this.
I love it! I already loved it on the runway and Rooney Mara pulled it off very well. The look miss jewelery though
+1
she is totally working this look, love it
Normally I hate it, but she’s just oddball (in a non-pejorative way) enough to pull it off. I continue to like her style and look forward to what she’ll give us. She’s unique.
She’s gorgeous. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is everyone so obsessed with this girl? She is trying too hard to be edgy and different from the rest, not cool at all. In my opinion she’s still playing the character, pathetically.
Hot, very 90s
+1 for Linda. Strange how much good for her did this exposed midriff (what I usually hate), she looks much much taller.
I think it’s dramatic in it’s own way. And she looks fabulous.
I love it!
I don`t mind it at all, she has an edgy style after all.. I prefer her new style compared to he pre-dragon tattoo days, It`s nice to see someone different without going Gaga.
i totally agree with M. Something is missing. Makeup? Jewelry? i don’t know, but it looks soulless and drab to me
She looks lovely, but I agree with Amberley that the top looks too sports bra, I like the way it appears on the model with a smaller more intriguing split.
I agree with everything you said!
I love it. I think this look suits her. But I am missing some kind of jewelry – it somehow looks a little bare.
It works on her, the shoes are nice, but I’m wondering if the blue top from the runway and some bold lippie wouldn’t have elevated her look.
But god yes, DESPERATELY in need of some color from her.
Amazing!! Flawless!
It’s ok, she has the elegance to pull off. I prefer the modest display of midriff on the runway but I’m relieved her belly button isn’t on display.
I absolutely love this look.
My favorite of the whole year!!!
Okay, it’s only been a few days, but…..
LOL…that is so cute x
100% no to exposed midriffs! I think that if it had been a one piece dress with a teal or burgundy bodice it would have been lovely, but not like this.
I like this much more than her last photocall look with the oversize jacket. I like the colour choice here and I am liking the chic show of midriffs recently (see Scarlet Johansson) because I don’t think it has been tacky. Her makeup is great here and the shoes are awesome!!
