Meryl Streep was in good spirits as she took to the red carpet in London last night for the premiere of her latest movie, ‘The Iron Lady’.
The 62-year-old actress is clearly a fan of British designer Stella McCartney, as this is the third time she has worn a look from Stella’s Fall 2011 collection, following the London photocall and New York premiere.
On this occasion she wore a Stella McCartney Fall 2011 black pleated dress with a royal-blue Lindsey Thornburg coat.
I love the Fiona Paxton breeze necklace, but the Michael Kors boots are a no for me.

Oh Meryl…the boots and the Glenda the Good Witch coat? Really?
Please take notes from Helen Mirren asap because you don’t have to look this way. No. No. No.
I love everything about this look. She looks really confident and regal.
Meryl is a great actress who is horrible at putting a look together. She always looks dowdy and dumpy. She appears to have an aversion to clothing that actually fits and touches her body. Too bad because her face is stunning.
Exactly! These shoes completely ruin her look. But she still looks great (except shoes). What I especially like about this look is that it is very age-appropriate.
Sorry, I meant “boots” not shoes.
she looks so adorable from the ankles up! why, oh why those boots??? if she’d worn blue peeptoes i would’ve dropped dead right here.
I’m glad she wore the coat; those sleeves are hideous and poorly constructed. Awful boot choice too.
Is it me or does she look like she’s graduating from somewhere?
Ditto.
Agreed! I would offer my services to her for free.
She looked her best in whoever did the styling for the film Somethings Gotta Give.
I get in a pit in my stomach every time I see her on the RC.
Is that a black scarf over the coat or is a part of the coat itself? In any case, it kinda pulls down the look for me (together with the boots), cause it makes it too fussy and it almost ruins the beautiful combo of black and blue.
I can live with the boots. I think she looks great, and as Linda says–she is oozing confidence which can sell just about anything.
The coat looks just like the robe my friend recently had to wear for her Phd graduation ceremony – I don’t like anything about this look……..but I still really want to see the movie!
Exactly my thought – these look like my academic robes! All she needs is the hood.
She looks pretty good… Except horrible shoe choice.
i’m not liking this one bit, from the weird make up to the boots, and why did she have to cover the dress like that? i understand its cold but she might have gone with a prettier more weather appropriate look rather than cover it all up like this!!!!!
Ditto, CTgirl, dowdy and dumpy as usual pretty much.
Looks like it’s from 1915 :\
i love her but she needs to call helen mirren’s stylist and start work on a new wardrobe!
I very much love Meryl but she looks like my lecturer at uni graduation. the boots are terrible!!
