After Lady Gaga’s performance in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, she was spotted leaving the stage wearing a Chanel suit.
The gold suit embroidered with multi-colour crystals is from the Chanel Prêt-à-Porter Autumn/Winter 1996-97 collection.
From the picture below, the suit was originally presented with a gold belt, but Gaga opted for a black suede Chanel belt with gold medallions.
Vintage Chanel sunglasses, yet another pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Daffodile’ pumps, this time in gold, and a Chanel Mademoiselle bag completed her look.
I much prefer the original belt with this suit.

Prefer it with the original belt. And the sunglasses look like they belong on someone in a Boca Raton assisted living home.
Honestly this makes me sad. Gaga takes gorgeous pieces and makes them look horrendous. Despite her overall style, she just does not have what it takes to pull of actual “fashion.” Sad.

I kind of like this belt–the original belt would have really dated the suit in my opinion. The suit is GORGEOUS and I agree it is wasted on Lady Gaga. Could be so much better on someone with more class.
Not liking the suit itself regardless how she styled/accessorized it, it doesn`t really work for her figure/height.
I’m not her biggest fan but I LOVE THIS LOOK. She looks absolutely fabulous.

I think my grandmother had something similar that she wore to country club events back in the day. Retro but not in a good way.
Gaga makes it work for her. I don’t really like the suit to begin with. In the pictures it looks like something Barbara Bush would wear on a flashy day.

To me it’s just a total mess. How to destroy an exquisite Vintage Chanel creation in 1 week. She just need to stop wearing Chanel. I hope that Chanel didn’t let her pick some clothes in the archives.

The hair and those sunglasses really make take it into caricature zone. The original belt was better too.

Maybe what you mean is that Lady Gaga looks as old as Barbara Bush. Except instead of looking like an elderly New England lady, Gaga looks like an escapee from the Jersey Shore old folks’ home.
Is it the shades, the heavy make-up, or that awful wig? Probably all of them. It’s not easy to make Chanel look so cheap.
I prefer GaGa’s belt but I wish she would pile up her huge collection of Daffodils and set them on fire in her next music video.

The suit is absolutely gorgeous and reminds me of the Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 collection because I get an Indian feel from it. I think the original belt is better and the rest of the styling kills this for me. The hair and sunglasses are appaling.
