Rooney Mara took to the red carpet for the second time in a row to promote her latest movie, ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’.
For the Madrid premiere she wore a beautiful Rodarte Fall 2011 gown.
I’m glad we finally get to see this off-white and black dotted silk chiffon halter gown sans coat.
Many of you will be glad that the actress opted not to wear black on this occasion.
Rooney looked very regal and surprisingly statuesque for someone so petite.
I love the lacquered locks which she has tried once before and the neutral makeup.
The actress continues to mix things up which is why I she’s still my one to watch during awards season.
Is it me or does she look like Erin O’Connor here?

i love this. and i would sell my mother for that coat.
Love it! BDOTW contender.
This is drop dead beautiful. I love her style and she wears clothes really well. I can’t wait to see even more beautiful looks from her.
She may not be mixing things up colour-wise, but she’s mixing up styles, designers, pieces, lengths. It’s far more satisfying, and she does it well.
So glad she’s finding her footing on the red carpet.
It’s the softest we’ve seen her in a while, it romantic in a way.
P.S – can’t see the Erin resemblance myself. x
Would ü agree with me FC that the dress looks like Marios Schwab SS12
hmm….I dont see it
I must admit this is my fav. look from her so far, if I had to choose one for BDOTW, this would be the one – much prefer this hairstyle for her, and the calm gracefulness of this look that she carries so well.
I though that movie was released while ago, nice actress though.
I like it, the color is still in the ranges she goes for, but all the other outfits were more edgy and so, this was kind of touching the elegant factor that fits her. What I like is her and her stylist has her outfits that’s tailored to her body which gives her more of presence and a stature, or outfits that just fits her body. The styling is just superb.
I can see a bit of Erin O’Connor – I think she looks great here, I love how she is evolving her look and adjusting her hair each time. This dress is beautiful, love the polka dots, so young but sophisticated at the same time.
deja-vu
I can’t wait for her to wear some color. She’d look gorgeous.
i loved this look from her! really elegant!
A very soft and romantic look, I like it.
would it hurt her to crack a smile?
I adore the look, everything about it, apart from the bow, which I think is cheap looking and tacky. I find her really interesting & unexpected on the red carpet, because while she keeps delivering the bored to death colours, she is always varied & exciting with her (stylist’s) picks. She also has a beautiful grace & elegance similar to that of Erin O’Connor as you said, and, to me, Cate Blanchett.
Who’s her stylist, do we know?
This is her best look so far! Soft, romantic (as Jones19 said) and amazingly tailored! I’d love to see her wear less neutrals but if she keeps going like this I won’t complain!
Oh my god TOTALLY Erin. How have I not seen that resemblance before?
this is the best that she’s looked imo
gorgeous!
I agree with Anna. A very elegant look which suits her really well.
Can’t wait to see her during awards season.
oh yay, no black and swept bangs!! She looks very beautiful and while I do love the coat I do love seeing the dress itself and Rooney looks lovely and pulls it off wells thanks to her height. I really love the laquered hair and when she sweeps her bangs because I think it is more flattering for her than the blunt bangs.
Great dress, and it really suits her!
p.s. That coat is amazing…
+1 re the coat!
Interesting dress but I hate the makeup.
She looks really nice here. And I like the thing – like Paddy M said – that she is mixing up styles and designers.
But slowly I am beginning to dislike the idea of wearing only black or white on the red carpet. I mean it’s not wrong to wear another color at least one time. And to be honest, everything she wore so far looked good on her. And I am pretty sure that another color will look good on her too.
Nevertheless I am excited to see her during awards season too and I hope she will show us some color..
She has the IDEAL coloring to wear something bright and off-kilter, like mustard or citron. I really hope she’s waiting until awards season to shock us all with something vivid and bright.
I love this dress, my personal favourite from this collection. And she looks great – fresh, very elegant. Same as Alina, I can’t wait to see her during awards season.
Anyway, I think I don’t want to see her in bright bold colors – I’m afraid that can be overwhelming for petite (and still uncomfortable on RC) Rooney…
This dress is gorgeous! She looks so good!
I love the dress, not a big fan of the hair and makeup. I could probably go with the hair if the makeup had a little more color. But she carries the dress really well and sells her look.
Hi FC.. Wish u a very happy new year.. This is my first comment of this year and i think this Is BDOTW worthy.. Love her here..
thank you Happy New Year
Well said Paddy M, couldn’t agree more!
Nicest gown I’ve seen her wearing.
