Rooney Mara In Louis Vuitton – ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ Paris Premiere

YAY…we have our first bonafide red carpet premiere look of 2012 courtesy of Rooney Mara.

She picked up right where she left off in 2011 promoting ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ with a premiere in Paris this evening.

The actress, who appears to have had some red carpet posing coaching over the holidays, looked super confident on the red carpet wearing a black Louis Vuitton sleeveless dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection.

Her gorgeous dress with a bell-shaped skirt also has an embroidered and woven detail with gold embellishments which really sets it apart from the average LBD.

A black leather belt and Balmain strappy sandals provide the finishing touches, whilst she swept her blunt bangs to the side and added hot red lips for a pop of colour.

With her shoulders back and sexy glare, the shy timid star is no longer.

J’Adore this look from head-to-toe.

What do you think?

Hi FC, congrats with your new RCFA upgrade!

I think she is wearing Givenchy ankle strap shoes….not sure

    • Fashion Critic January 6, 2012 at 15:45 #

      Thank you.

      Glad you like it x

  2. couturecoco January 4, 2012 at 17:50 #

Perfection another one for my best of 2012 list!

  3. DivaDebbi (Beauty and Fashion Blog) January 4, 2012 at 17:46 #

Agreed. Perfection. Pretty not too goth for a change.

  4. Magda January 4, 2012 at 17:24 #

Love everything this look – shoes choice, dress (amazing!), red lips, hair…

  5. yumey January 4, 2012 at 16:01 #

WOW she looks stunning, love the styling.

  6. Jen January 4, 2012 at 13:53 #

Yeah, I find her insufferable in interviews. But she looks great – I usually find black dresses boring and she’s knocking them out of the park.

  7. Kate Laurie January 4, 2012 at 13:10 #

My comment above is about heels.
And dress…which LV collection is it? I think, pre-fall 2011.

  8. Kate Laurie January 4, 2012 at 13:04 #

They seems to be Gucci kinga, but without embellished detail.

  9. T. January 4, 2012 at 12:51 #

I really like this look! BDOTW?

  10. Laura January 4, 2012 at 12:18 #

I love ! Very parisian look, by the way. BDOTW !

  11. june January 4, 2012 at 11:46 #

her past looks were great but it was kind of obvious they really weren’t *her*, if that makes sense. here, it’s that edgy, but sweeter softness that actually looks like it’s something she wanted to wear to be rooney, and not an extension of her character from girl with a dragon tattoo

  12. goldfish January 4, 2012 at 09:28 #

    love her.. and the shoes!
i just wish she would start to wear other colours than black and white.. that doesn’t mean she should lose her edge though..
    she is absolutely gorgeous

  13. Maz January 4, 2012 at 09:11 #

    She looks truly stunning! BDOTW!

  14. Emi January 4, 2012 at 08:13 #

  15. jo January 4, 2012 at 07:34 #

Love this look. glad you’re back FC 🙂

  16. Louise January 4, 2012 at 07:20 #

I like it and, despite what some others have said, I like the shoes too. So refreshing to see some strappy shoes. Her legs look fab. If this had been in a colour other than black, I might just love it.

  17. Alina January 4, 2012 at 07:17 #

I love it! BDOTW contender for sure.

  18. rosie January 4, 2012 at 07:14 #

It’s nice and she’s really selling it but I’m awful sick of black and white. Navy would even be welcome at this point. I mean come on.

  20. olivia January 4, 2012 at 07:08 #

I love this dress! Rooney isn’t exactly my cup of tea usually, but she looks great here

  21. Jess2 January 4, 2012 at 05:09 #

This is head to toe perfection and has BDOTW written ALL over it!! She looks more beautiful than ever, stunned by this look, I love it!!

  22. carol January 4, 2012 at 04:09 #

i love the new web design!

  23. CTgirl January 4, 2012 at 02:49 #

Everything works so well with this look. She is stunning without giving in to either severity or frou frou. Totally digging this look.

  24. TeaAtTwo January 4, 2012 at 02:45 #

I’ll take her black and white looks if they continue to be as good as this.

  25. Mahima January 4, 2012 at 01:29 #

I want this dress. God its so pretty.

  26. EmmaWoodhouse January 4, 2012 at 00:54 #

+1 Amberly–I definitely thought of Jennifer Aniston’s Gucci’s when I saw these! I love this look for Rooney! Probably my favorite so far! It looks like she’s channeling Audrey Hepburn! 🙂

  27. Linda January 4, 2012 at 00:10 #

She looks great. I love her style and look forward to seeing her in awards season.

  28. bas January 3, 2012 at 23:41 #

    love it!

  29. Paulidoodles McL January 3, 2012 at 23:34 #

I think her heels are also LV

  30. susan January 3, 2012 at 23:24 #

love love love. the make up is perfect, the lipstick not too red like some of her previous looks. and the sandals are perfect too, so glad she didn’t wear pumps! she looks beautiful. I hope that soon she breaks out into some more colours though, besides black and white.

  31. Shaina January 3, 2012 at 23:16 #

I love it! Beautifully done. I remember saying she was overrated last year, I think I may take that back. To have such a simple look look so amazing? She has my attention now.

  32. Rahel January 3, 2012 at 22:51 #

She looks really good. I wasn’t a fan of her last outfits because she looked too gothic for my taste. But this dress looks very good and her makeup is on point.

  33. Mol January 3, 2012 at 22:47 #

Moi aussi, J’adore! I can find no fault…

  34. Yeliz January 3, 2012 at 22:43 #

I love this look from head-to-toe too. And I’m glad that she didn’t wore pumps.

  35. Hannah January 3, 2012 at 22:26 #

I like this look too. She is making black interesting. FC did you see the ten minute special on film 4, she was wearing Pilotto, it is my favorite promo look of hers so far, I’m just a little disappointed it wasn’t on a red carpet.

    • Fashion Critic January 3, 2012 at 22:32 #

yes I saw a pic, like you said would’ve been great on the RC

  36. maria January 3, 2012 at 22:07 #

i agree. you could pick navy, plum, dark grey. so many other colours out there…. yawn.

  37. asherlev1 January 3, 2012 at 21:57 #

Aahhh! She’s adorable and glamorous all at the same time! If I had one nitpick, it would be her shoes, but other than that, fabulous!

  38. Alex January 3, 2012 at 21:57 #

She looks incredibly chic. Perfect look for a Paris premiere. Love the dress, love the shoes, hair and make-up and I agree that she looks very comfortbale in this beautiful ensemble.

  39. Sher January 3, 2012 at 21:37 #

Her attitude totally sells the look. Heres hoping that she blows us away at the Golden Globes. Love the site changes FC!

  40. Nat39 January 3, 2012 at 21:34 #

J´adore this look from h2t aussi, magnifique! wonderful look for her, works perfectly for her including the hairstyle and absence of jewellery – the shape of the skirt, the embellishments on the dress, and the bold red lips provide all the excitement needed.

  41. molly January 3, 2012 at 21:29 #

I like it. I think she looks really great, and its actually a bit refreshing to see her in a real LBD. I am getting really sick of all the dark colors though. Her stylist needs to get this girl some McQueen, stat!

  42. Amberly January 3, 2012 at 21:28 #

Do you know what shoes she’s wearing? They look like the Gucci sandals Jennifer Aniston has worn in the past.

    • Fashion Critic January 3, 2012 at 21:33 #

it is hard to tell which shoes she is wearing

  43. Amberly January 3, 2012 at 21:26 #

I LOVE this dress. Oh my goodness, it is gorgeous! I think Mara should stick with the hair-slicked-back look but I prefer her bangs like this over the full-on fringe effect. As long as she is still “in character”, she should sport the bright lip and girly-yet-edgy ensembles on the red carpet because they make her appear a lot more lively. I’m warming up to her, although I still think she doesn’t comes across well in interviews.

  44. Henrique January 3, 2012 at 21:22 #

    Surprisingly I like this look

  45. fromchi-town January 3, 2012 at 21:20 #

Love this look from head to toe. Thankfully she opted for something other than the dreaded pumps. The LBD has interesting details – and is a strong and confident look.

  46. Linda January 3, 2012 at 21:19 #

    to be honest… not new…
