The Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 ad campaign featuring Monica Bellucci and Bianca Balti was inspired by Italian beauty and its female cinema star icons: Anna Magnani, Monica Vitti and especially Sofia Loren, women endowed with authentic charm and who personify seduction and comfort at the same time.
Monica plays the matriarch of family decked out in her trademark all black, whilst Bianca adds some colour to the campaign wearing vibrant prints and a blue lace dress.
The images, which portray scenes such as a godson’s communion, afternoons at the beach, Sundays at home, family parties, the first boyfriend, and tender moments with the children, highlight the values of Dolce & Gabbana: Italian spirit, tradition, family, love, passion, joie de vivre and the ability to capture the modernity of the past and to render it contemporary.
Giampaolo Sgura captured the cast in Portofino.

i really like it..and welcome back..Happy New Year:) looking forward to more great posts this year also
Monica is stunning, as always.
I like the Communion one especially
Extremely Italian
Loving Monica, outstanding beauty and quiet mature sexy confidence. Great campaign but wish Bianca`s knees were closer together (sorry, doesn`t sound nice) – rather cheapening and destracting – the vibrancy of the prints that she`s wearing and the bold explicit sexiness of her facial expression should`ve been sufficient to express the youthful joy of life.
The photos are achingly beautiful. Monica is as always, stunning.
I saw the first picture of Bianca and said to myself that it’s just my idea..but seeing the other pictures as well, I have to agree with you..Monica Stunning and totally in the concept of the campaign!
Happy New year FC!!I wish we are going to have a year full of fashionable, amazing red carpet moments!!I love your new layout! xoxo

Does this remond anyone else of ad campaigns from early/mid 2000′s….?
I loved the D&G SS11 ads. this one is good too, tells a a fun story.
if these pics were in sepia you would think Stefano or Domenico took them from their family archives. Very reminiscent of their past campaign & no one does it better!
