Red Carpet Designer of 2011 & Couturier of 2011 – Elie Saab

By an overwhelming margin, Elie Saab not only received the most votes for Red Carpet Designer of the Year, but also for Couturier of the Year.

No, I promise you I didn’t rig the votes.

The designer’s magical gowns were showcased at nearly every major event this year including Cannes Film Festival, the Oscars, the Latin Grammys, the Bambi Awards, the Marie Claire Prix de la Moda Awards, the BAFTAs, the Emmy’s and the Golden Globes.

No other designer can boast that kind of reach in 2011.

Elie’s biggest celebrity fan was, of course, Fan Bingbing, but his other loyal fans included Sarah Jessica Parker, Mila Kunis, Hilary Swank, Princess Beatrice, Catherine Zeta Jones, Taylor Swift, Evan Rachel Wood, Abbie Cornish, Emily Blunt, Princess Victoria of Sweden, Florence Welch and, most recently, Sonam Kapoor, Emma Watson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman.

It’s no wonder his client list is almost as extensive as IMDB, because he creates everything a girl could want – from head-turning gowns, to sequin mini dresses, every girl wants a piece of Elie magic because it pretty much guarantees her a place on Best Dressed lists the world over.

Creating what a girl could want that’s exactly what it is. One can never get tired of his pretty very feminine creations.
With that said, Blake sticks out like a sore thumb in that suit a size (or 2) too small for her. Elie Saab is a magic but no magic can account for the right fit.

It is way too tight but I fault her stylist for that faux pas.
His range staggers. Mila’s gown was my fave of last years Oscars. No one comes close to Elie’s RC magic in my book.

FC, wishing you and yours all the best!

Everyone always looks amazing in Elie Saab. My favorites were definitely SJP, Keira, and Emma.

Though I usually prefer Alexander McQueen designs I think that this was a great choice, because this has really been Elie Saab’s year!
