Back in February, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana sent models down the runway decked out in star prints ranging from fitted bustier dresses to floaty maxis.
Who knew that by the summer it would be the hottest trend around, with everyone donning that galactic print on red carpets around the world.
Asian actress Wei Tang was the first to start the obsession during Cannes Film Festival back in May.
Lily Allen and Jessica Alba dressed their baby bumps in the star print, Evan Rachel Wood and Solange opted for star-print pants, and, just this weekend, Helen Mirren (much to your displeasure) wore the now-famous Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2011 star print dress on the red carpet.

The trend wasn’t just confined to the red carpet, either: magazines around the world caught the fever with supermodels and actresses wearing the Dolce & Gabbana star print in their editorials.

They loved it too much.
+1 Make it go away. I liked the white dress that Fan Bingbing and Zoe Saldana wore but please…most of the looks were TERRIBLE
Ah, Dolce’s Fall 2011 stars. If I never see them again, it’ll be too soon. What puzzles me is why starlets were so willing to wear these pieces even after they had been beaten to death on every red carpet, on every magazine cover and in every editorial and replicated by every high street chain from here to Timbuktu. Lazy.
i agree about the fact that they would wear the same print so clearly seen on the carpet.
on the other hand i loved this print. Not sure why but i could get the fascination with it.
I get why the celebs love it but the magazine editors jumping on the bandwagon is a little sad.
The D&G SS11 lace looks were all over celebland too.
Jessica Alba looks awful in that dress. I realize that she’s pregnant in the photo but she really needs a strapless bra. Those things are dangerous.
I loved Jessica Alba in her dress, but agree with CTgirl, she needed a bra.
Evan Rachel looks very cool and rock’nroll, but I am glad to see this overused trend go.
I hated Jessica Alba’s dress. Her hair is flawless tho
when i first saw this print i was determined to get something similar from some high street store but when i saw this for the 10000th time in few short weeks i couldn’t look at the stars anymore!
