Queen Latifah was one of the presenters at the VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul event which took place in New York City last night.
She wore beautiful Edition by Georges Chakra Fall 2011 gown.
Her custom navy blue crepe mermaid gown with one shoulder crystal embellished of interlaced circles was beautiful look for the diva.
The thigh-high split revealed gorgeous silver embellished sandals.
Queen Latfiah opted to wear her hair back in a tight bun on this occasion, but I wish she sported bouncy curls.

She started the year beautifully in Editions by George Chakra, and she is finishing it beautifully in Georges Chakra. Match made in heaven!
Good point and I agree
I don’t think I’ve ever seen her show leg on the red carpet. I adore the shoes.
It is a beautiful dress, but I think it would have looked better with the embellishment on both shoulders. She looks like she has gained some weight and the one-shoulder angle draws attention to that expanse of blue. A softer hairstyle would also have made her look more glamorous.
I agree about the shoulders and hairstyle.
+1 word for word,
Couldn’t have said it better. I think she looks great in blue, though.
I agree too, the one shoulder arrangement looks a bit DIY to me.
Unfortunately, I agree about the shoulders of the dress. It looks a bit sloppy. Both shoulders up would have definitely given her a better fit and shape.
Maybe not bouncy curls … a more loose updo would have worked too.
Yes! A loose updo would have been lovely.
This isn`t working. One has to take into account one`s figure and find the way to present it in the most flattering way possible, and this is not one of them unfortunately- a mermaid gown is all about the silhouette and when on a wrong figure, it doesn`t help or flatter but only displays it in a less flattering light. Agree about the hair, it`s a tad severe.
Agree. It’s unflattering, I disagree with people who say “i’m fat, but I can wear everything I want”, yes it’s true that you can wear whatever you want, but some of them are unflattering.
She looks Fantastic
*gets on his knees and bows* the queen is back and looking gorgeous.
The picture of class and grace
Queen Latifah is a whole lot of woman and this dress really flatters her curves. The color is amazing.
She is proof that size does not increase or decrease beauty. Gorgeous
