Jennifer Hudson In The Blonds & Dolce & Gabbana – VH1’s Divas Celebrate Soul Performances

Jennifer Hudson showcased more than just her singing abilities when she took to the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City last night for VH1’s Divas Celebrate Soul event.

She wore a very sexy ruby mini dress from The Blonds Spring 2012 collection.

This signature corset dress is bejewelledwith contrasting sequins.

It’s a shame that the PVC strips across the front of the bodice and the straps are visible, because she really worked this look on the stage.

Her second look was simply sensational.

She donned another look from The Blonds Spring 2012 collection.

The full-length show-stopper was covered in multi-coloured crystals which dazzled the crowd.

Sporting yet another hairstyle, the diva opted for side-swept locks, a bright pink lip colour and silver strappy sandals to complete her performance look.

Jennifer’s third look was a fuchsia pink Dolce & Gabbana lace, embellished confection which she paired with Christian Louboutin ‘No. 299′ ankle strap peep-toes.

The second The Blonds look was my favourite.

I love the second look (eye-catching in a good way, sassy, young, and yet elegant) just as much as I hate the first one (cheap, customey and unflattering).

That sequined gown is certainly BDOTW material if not BDOTY. She looks totally fabulous in that. It is really a winner.

Yuck, yuck, yuck! Don’t go down that road! The first one is cookie cutter, try hard, boring, tacky J-Lo/Beyonce material – really their stage looks have all looked the same to me for the past five years or so.

The second one is much nicer.

I prefer Florence Welch’s performance style – it’s amazingly gracious, ladylike, fashion forward, attractive – I could go on and on – compared to a lot of these ladies.

I am not the biggest fan of the length of the second look – I think it would have worked much better if it touched the floor.

Absolutely dislike the first look. Feels like she is trying to hard. Those corsets are generally reserved for the likes of Rihanna, Fergie, Katy etc. She should stick with her best style which is the 2nd and 3rd look. She looks amazing.

What Is it that lately Dolce&Gabbana looks have been so tacky? I really dislike her third dress and the fridge makes it even more ridiculous
