The J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2012 collection is probably the most beautiful yet with the designer calling it ‘Unapologetic Luxury’.
Gilles Mendel presented a series of beautiful dresses and laidback uptown separates which included sumptuous furs, scintillating shearlings, sophisticated sheaths and screen siren gowns.
Lush Russian red fox furs were paired with dramatic above-the-elbow leather opera gloves. Cigarette pants are made uber cool when paired with layered sheer tops and a fur trimmed coat. An open back, makes a seemingly simple sheath very sexy.

Red carpet worthy gowns in ecru, rust, red, teal, navy, white, slate grey, rust, salmon pink and nude were mostly strapless or off-the-shoulder, but once adorned with a fur stole or fur vest it makes for the perfect late winter evening luxe look.
With awards season just around the corner, I’m sure we will see these gowns threading the red carpet very soon, especially that gorgeous blush strapless chiffon layered gown – ‘Hello Taylor Swift’.
Favourites: Ivory sheath dress and blush strapless gown
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Taylor Swift, Emma Stone, Andrea Riseborough, Mila Kunis, Shailene Woodley, Jessica Chastain, Blake Lively, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Michelle Williams

Gorgeous–the coats are to die for.
Are you reviewing all of the pre-fall? or just the ones you were invited to.
And I couldn’t agree more with your statements. Beautiful and Beautiful. I hope we see Looks 26-31 on the red carpet.
just the one’s I’m invited too
LOVE look 31! So gorgeous and ethereal. Perfect for Tay!
Gorgeous gowns, but I have to question the name of the collection at a time when people are losing jobs. It’s something of a ‘let’em eat cake’ statement, and I cannot imagine they would not have thought of that., at this time in the world.
Look 28 on Hilary Swank.
