The KCD press day was full of lustful Spring 2012 pieces starting with the Balmain collection which had several studded, embellished pieces that have already taken the red carpet courtesy of Gemma Arterton.
Leather vests, jackets, shoulder bags, clutches and belts were showcased alongside the denim pieces with gold appliqués.
As a huge fan of Prabal Gurung, I was very excited to see his collection up close, especially the dresses worn by Sarah Jessica Parker and Amanda Seyfried, plus those sexy Nicholas Kirkwood for Prabal Gurung heels.
Alexander Wang’s downtown urban accessories, including backpacks, cut-out ankle boots and totes, were the highlights, alongside the biker-chic jackets and leather mini dresses.
The bow-front See by Chloe heels shot straight to the top of my wish list. I also loved their purses, clutches and bags which ranged in colours from pastel pink to emerald green.
Also on my wish list is the entire Nina Ricci accessories line. I loved the pink snakeskin clutch with the pearl and beaded clasp, which sat alongside floral clutches with cut bows, totes with gold clasps and clutches with woven ribbon details.
For Spring 2012 I want to be an Isabel Marant girl. The laidback parisian-chic brand created an American-style collection of football jerseys and low-slung pants. The multi-coloured hoodie was my favourite piece and I was surprised by how heavy it was.
The accessories also had a sportswear feel, but, alongside the high-top sneakers, I also saw sexy strappy sandals, which will be a favourite of celebrity fans like Rosie Huntingon-Whiteley and Kate Bosworth.
Other brands at the press day included 3.1 Phillip Lim, the debut collection of Mayiet, Marc Jacobs men’s, Pedro Lourenco and Mugler.
