Kate Beckinsale co-hosted a dinner with FLAUNT magazine at the SLS Hotel in LA yesterday evening.
The British actress looked sensational wearing a Michael Kors Fall 2011 dress.
Her black beaded asymmetrical draped crystal-embellished dress was accented by a large leather waistband.
Kate accessorized with Jimmy Choo ‘Esam’ pumps, a black satin clutch and Chopard jewels.
For the glamorous occasion she opted for a high ponytail and glossy lips.
I would’ve preferred an updo, a thinner belt or no belt at all.

What an ugly ponytail!! An updo or pretty loose wavy hair would`ve worked so much better. I can live with the plain pumps but the overly large leather belt is killing this pretty crystal-embellished dress. The earrings aren`t working either, simple diamond studs would`ve been nicer. Fail.
Very beautiful dress… I really agree with you, FC, a thinner belt and a better hairstyle would have been better.
I agree too.
Agree about the belt FC. She is too shortwaisted for a belt that is this wide. Otherwise I like the look and her relaxed vibe.
The hair is bad early 2000′s prom. The belt is a no and the shoes could’ve been so much better.
Luuuurve! Im sorry, does she EVER age!
I like it this way. It’s classic and modern at the same time.
I really like the belt!
I do too, it really makes her waist tiny. I don’t like the hair one bit though.
Me too. I think the wide belt gives this a really interesting shape it wouldn’t have otherwise. I usually hate black dresses but this is more dynamic b/c of the belt.
The hair is kind of crazy but it looks like a cool, Jackie Kennedy kind of look to me!
I think my sister wore her hair like that to prom in the 90′s. Its not a good look on anyone. I totally agree with you FC on the belt, but it does make her chest look huge so maybe that was the point?
Horrendous hair. I don’t mind the belt as much as the hair. At least she’s dressing age-appropriate this time!
Oh the hair the hair the hair!!! Love the dress and simple accessories… wish the belt were thinner…and that hair!! I don’t mind the quiff / pompadour but it would have worked better with a straight ponytail or even a bun. There just seems to be alot of hair going in crazy directions. She is a very gorgeous lady though… her face is perfection!
I like asymmetrical but I don’t like kind of, sort of, maybe in a way asymmetrical. Go big or go home.
Minus the hair, she looks fantastic.
I really love the dress. The belt is a bit too thick and the ponytail is awful but this isn’t an awful look. Overall I think she looks lovely.
I think I would have loved the draping of the dress had she left it loose or worn a thinner belt.
Every time I see Kate I think of my childhood Barbie in absolutely the best way. She always brings it and looks awesome, the way a woman should look in my opinion.
