Coco Rocha In Zac Posen – ‘The Iron Lady’ New York Premiere

I love Coco Rocha, I really do, but she was overdressed once again at ‘The Iron Lady’ New York premiere last night.

The supermodel wore a Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012 gown, which is our first look from all the recent Pre-Fall 2012 collections on the red carpet.

The gown is beautiful, there is no denying that, but considering everyone arrived in mostly simple LBDs, and considering this wasn’t her premiere, a full-length Golden Globe Award worthy gown with a long train is a tad much.

You may remember she pulled a similar stunt at the Versace for H&M launch party.

    Overdressed – yes.
    Stunning – YES.

Agree, and at least someone glam showed up to this rather dreary red carpet!

      • bas December 14, 2011 at 17:09 #

        agreed :)

    • Luis December 14, 2011 at 19:47 #

      Agreed!

    • gurlygurl December 14, 2011 at 22:57 #

Agreed! It may not have been event appropriate but she looks incredible!

I’m a firm believer in being overdressed than under-dressed, at least this way people assume you have something more glamorous to attend afterwards they dont know about…. LOL

      amazing comment.

I’d be mortified if I were so overdressed. She could have shortened the dress and it would still have been stunning yet appropriate.

    • EmmaWoodhouse December 14, 2011 at 16:21 #

Shortened it? And lost that train! Lol. Personally, I LOVE this look…one of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever seen! It is a bit much for the event but that doesn’t bother me a bit! I’m mesmerized by this. :)

Part of being truly stylish is being able to dress appropriately for an occasion. The dress is stunning, the arm detail would have kept a shorter version interesting.

        • oksana December 14, 2011 at 23:17 #

i am thinking the opposite. if you have a style you dont have to be appropriate.

        • EmmaWoodhouse December 15, 2011 at 00:09 #

That’s true, but I think Coco’s style is being more dramatic and more out there than other people. She certainly works it, imo!!! I do get your point, though–being event appropriate is a big part of being truly chic and fashionable. What my view is that Coco’s the exception to the rule!! :)

        • Jen December 15, 2011 at 03:50 #

I think being stylish isn’t really about being ‘appropriate’ for the event .. .but, um, being classy IS. And, well. It’s girl code, right? Don’t try to out-dress the bride and all that.

Still, she looks amazing. Even if she is overdressed and pose-harding all over the place.

        • TeaAtTwo December 15, 2011 at 16:28 #

Context aside we all agree that she looks stunning here.

Maybe she’s wearing the right look for an A-LIST premiere and the other ladies were dressed like they were going to a charity event.
Sorry, but I can’t stop loving this outfit.

PS someone has the number of her hairstylist? Her hair hare always flawless

  5. DivaDebbi (Beauty and Fashion Blog) December 14, 2011 at 15:40 #

It’s OTT for the event, but spectacular! Love the hair and makeup too.

  6. Zee December 14, 2011 at 15:43 #

I hated the LBDs worn by “main” ladies of this event, so this is a fresh breath of air for me on this occasion. I liked the gown and how she sells it. Beautiful.

  7. The Dame December 14, 2011 at 15:52 #

I love it when women look like Goddesses!

  8. Linda December 14, 2011 at 15:58 #

Wow, she looks flawlessly gorgeous. Overdressed, yes.

    • Martin December 15, 2011 at 00:31 #

She does looks gorgeous, but is obviously way overdressed. Although, I imagine if most women had Zac Posen as a best friend they’d be wearing gowns to pick up the milk and drop the kids off at school, so I can’t really blame her.

  9. Anna December 14, 2011 at 15:59 #

She may be overdressed, but I’d rather take her overdressing any day over the other utterly boring looks at this premiere. She looks simply amazing.

  10. eimearoconnor December 14, 2011 at 16:03 #

Blaaah what a washout colour, looks like it was white but was mixed in with her black clothes in the wash! :P

  11. GusMex December 14, 2011 at 16:06 #

IMO she´s the brand face, and she make a wonderful work, hehehe

  12. T December 14, 2011 at 16:16 #

Let’s put it this way – you’d be complaining a lot more if no one adopted Coco’a fashion philosophy, than if everyone did. She kills it, ALWAYS. This is what fashion is supposed to be – fabulous and FUN!

I don’t mind when one is overdressed to an event (it’s just ugly in Lea Michele). She looks fantastic, obviously everyone else took the name of the movie to heart and she on the other hand went over the top.

  14. Hannah December 14, 2011 at 16:29 #

As much as I find most LBDs boring, which so completely applies to this premiere, I hate attention seeking more, which is obviously what this is. She, as far as I know, isn’t even remotely in the film,so why she would wear a gown with red lips to this event is beyond me. Very few people even dress up this much to their own premieres. Literally, when you are more dressed up than Lea Michele was to her own premiere you know you’ve gone too far.

  15. John December 14, 2011 at 16:43 #

    She looked stunning! :)

  16. JJovana3 December 14, 2011 at 16:59 #

Dress is beautiful and she looks great in it, but not appropriate for the occasion.

  17. dee December 14, 2011 at 17:19 #

I think the other ladies needed to step their style game up. I rather be overdressed and look good than underdressed and look bad.

  18. Carmen December 14, 2011 at 22:34 #

I totally agree! However, I like this gown better on Crystal Renn.

  19. Dani December 14, 2011 at 23:05 #

Take out the context, and this is my BDOTW. That is a frickin’ awesome dress and she looks absolutely incredible.

  20. Ariel December 15, 2011 at 00:20 #

It’s a premiere and it’s not her fault she outshined the lead of the film. Compared to others on this red carpet, she’s overdressed but the others should’ve stepped their dressing game instead of wearing LBDs! BDOTW for me!

  21. mandy December 15, 2011 at 01:08 #

Overdressed or not, she looks incredible !

  22. Raquel December 15, 2011 at 02:13 #

She looks stunning, but overdressed, compared to the other stars.

  23. Stephanie December 15, 2011 at 03:03 #

she literally looks like a greek goddess. WOW.

  24. Jess2 December 15, 2011 at 06:23 #

There is no denying that women is very beautiful and looks very lovely at the events that she attends. She looks like a goddess here but it kind of annoys me that she pulls this overdressing stunt. Personally I feel that it is a bit rude.

  25. Fanny December 15, 2011 at 11:16 #

She’s not overdressed, it’s the other ones that are being underdressed!

  26. Jones19 December 15, 2011 at 12:33 #

I hate it when people overdress and try to steal thunder, this isn’t her premiere. Get over yourself.

  27. Josie December 16, 2011 at 22:36 #

And this is why she is a top model…look at that pose! It shows the dress to perfection and makes her look fantastic.
