Jessica Biel hosted the 6th Annual Charity: Ball Benefiting charity:water in New York City last night.
She surprisingly received zero votes for her last Valentino red carpet look, so how do you rate her for this effort?
Whilst the black lace dress is very pretty and understated for the host, I much prefer the bedazzlement of the previous look.
Some interesting accessories would’ve made the difference, but she opted for a black satin clutch, dangling onyx stone earrings and a matching cuff.

You can actually see the dress much better in some other photos and I like it–particularly the fact that it has a slightly higher waist–she, like Hilary Swank, is long waisted and her choices tend to over-emphasize that fact. But she needed something to liven this up–it’s a tad boring.
It’s dark and a bit gothic but I love that she’s wearing something interesting! I like this look–much better than the other Valentino.
Meh. Nice sleeves and neckline.
+1
Speaking as someone who really disliked the other dress, I like this SOOOO much better. The fit is good and the cut is flattering to her. Looking closely you can see the details of the dress, which I’m sure were even more lovely in person. The jewellery is dark, but beautiful, and fits her understated style. So all in all, the best I think I’ve ever seen her.
it’s better than the other Valentino but still so & so.
yep. i also believe an updo would have showcased the dress much better.
I like it.
FC, I agree with you – I liked the other dress better. I thought it was more different and interesting. This one is not bad – but nothing to get excited about.
I agree.
Snoozefest.
Totally! I don’t understand how/why she always looks so frumpy…I don’t really like this dress on her & I really didn’t like her previous look. She needs a new stylist who knows how to dress her body – she’s a beautful woman but you rarely see that.
Total snoozefest. You’d think that she’d opt for something a little more interesting given that she was hosting this event. Completely underwhelming.
She doesn’t look bad, but she doesn’t look great either. She just looks ok; a little shiny, but ok.
Her Valentino look was def. better, this one is just so dark, gloomy, and drab old (as opposd to ‘dark dramatic or elegant’ looks), esp. with that hair. I could’ve given it a pass if at least the silhouette was great as it’s so frumpy and thick-waisted, with a prettier more alive hair, and a pop of colour desperately needed to lighten up this depressingly old look.
I’m not surprised her Valentino got zero votes, she didn’t pull it off. This gown suits her figure better but there’s nothing really noteworthy going on here. She seems to be hiding her gorgeous body these days, what is up with that?
i love the sleeves of this dress, but I don’t think it’s flattering on her at all
Zero votes or zero percent.?
Both I think
Maybe is the dark background or the darker hair, something is off.
it is not really as bad as you guys portrayed it but i think its cute and charming cuz its blends up with her colour
Somehow I feel this is soooo ill-fitting on her. She looks awful imho.
Its not working for me. It ages her and washes her out too much.
Maybe its the neckline, or the color, but dark dresses do NOTHING for her.
