Kristin Cavallari helped celebrate the Rebecca Taylor store opening in LA on Wednesday evening.
She chose a maroon Rebecca Taylor Fall 2011 halter dress with ruffle skirt details.
The reality star paired the dress with matching dark lips and nails.
This maroon on maroon is definitely right-on for the season, but somehow manages to wash out the Californian beauty.
Perhaps if she had worn her hair completely back or completely down, rather than loose tendrils, she would not have become so lost behind her lipstick.
Nude heels and a nude clutch complete the look.
You can buy Kristin’s Rebecca Taylor dress in slate grey from
Bloomingdale’s and in teal from Saks.com.

Not good.
Am I the only one who almost didn’t recognize Miss Cavallari? I actually much prefer this sophisticated look to the LA-clone one she usually has. She looks a lot like Gwen Stefani. Her personality’s probably still as good as a screwdriver, but at least now there is something I can like about her…
No, I didn’t either and I prefer this too except for the hair and the lack of bra.
Agree with everything FC said, but also she needs a bra to make this work. The hair is really off.
i agree too.
I don’t think the color so much as washes her out, as overpowers her. I don’t care for anything about this look.
I actually think she looks cute but the lighting is so unflattering. It looks almost like she’s under some florescent lights. Not good. I think she’d look much better if she were in more natural light.
the shoes are a good choice, but yeah, the hair kind of sucks the life out of her ensmble
I can appreciate her wanting to wear Fall/Winter colors, but I think the teal version and a nude lip would have worked a lot better with her hair/skin.
Cute dress but the hair and makeup aren’t working. She looks too pale.
Aside from the lack of a bra I kind of appreciate the dark and pale look she was going for.
I actually think this is the best she has ever looked!
