The message many of you gave to Julianne Moore yesterday was, “Lanvin doesn’t work for you” – but judging by what she wore to the unveiling of Waterford Premier Interiors Collection at ‘Live a Crystal Life’ at Center 548 in New York City last night – she ain’t listening.
The actress donned yet another Lanvin dress, this time a ribbed wool dress with artful silk-gazar puffy sleeves from the Fall 2011 collection.
There is something about her persistence I admire, but this dress isn’t doing her any favours.
The words boxy and unflattering immediately spring to mind, with dull and uninspiring following.
I don’t like that the sleeves have lost their fizz off the runway.
You can buy Julianne’s Lanvin dress from
Net-A-Porter US, Net-A-Porter International and farfetch.com.

No, no, no, this is a terrible look on Ms Moore.
Yes, yes, yes, fire the stylist.
Did she look in a mirror before leaving the house? Julianne needs a reality check, Lanvin doesn’t work for her and it’s painfully obvious to everyone but her.
I agree with you FC. This is not working.
Oh Julianne. Enough already sweetheart.
Poor thing needs a style intervention. I’d watch that show on TLC. = )
Better than yesterday’s effort, but not by much. The word “persistence” implies effort and perseverance. In my opinion, if it takes so much work in order to get a label to work for you, then it is well and truly time to move on.
My advice : STOP WEARING LANVIN !
+ 1. And the dress needed a belt.
I agree about the belt. I think it would improved the look a bit. Although I also think that she should wear Lanvin less often, I find this look better than the previous one.
would have improved*
Julianne looves her Lanvin… Unfortunately, Lanvin does not love her back!
hahaha so funny,and true
With the runway belt, no tights and killer heels (no ankle straps!), this look might have worked a bit better. It’s like gem which is poorly cut and polished. The resulting jewel’s brilliance is further dimmed by an uninspired setting. A crying shame.
fashion victim. This is absolutely a case of the dress wearing the woman, and so was yesterday’s look.
+2. FC said it all.
Too bad. The sleeves fall flat, ruining the look. I admire her persistence too, you never get cookie cutter from her, that’s for sure, and that’s a big win in itself.
i wish she had modified the sleeves a bit. Maybe shorter and puffier and she could have pulled it off, as the rest of the dress fits her well, plus she did not go with a crazy shoe this time.
She is in desperate need of the belt and of some colour pops via some good accessorising. I ADORE Lavin, seriously I do, but Juliane Never gets Lanvin right, I really want her to return to Armani, or Tom Ford, or better yet : Dries van Noten.
would’ve been 200x fiercer w/ the jeweled belt
I don’t think this is TERRIBLE, but the runway belt and a different clutch might have done a world of difference. If I hadn’t seen other pictures and known what the sleeves really should look like, I don’t think I’d mind them so much, either.
i’m wondering how much Elbaz is paying her for her to continue wearing Lanvin..surely she has at least one mirror in her house?
Lanvin doesn’t work for real woman, just on the runway.
The Net-a-porter picture looks cool but on Julianne…it’s like a parachute device gone wrong!
I’m not sure what she was thinking coming out in this ensemble, however, I know what I’m thinking looking at these pictures and it ain’t nice!
