Jessica Biel was radiant as she took to the red carpet for the ‘New Year’s Eve’ premiere in New York City last night.
I was delighted to see her wearing my favourite look from the Valentino Spring 2012 collection.
Thankfully she wore it well.
The crystal-embellished drop-waist dress with bell-shaped sleeves was paired with gold Christian Louboutin ‘Anna’ sandals.
As much as I love this look, Jessica’s grey Valentino clutch irks me. I wish she’d opted for the complementary runway clutch instead.
Her option feels a tad out of place against her sensational, shimmering look.

I don’t like this one at all. Another miss for the beautiful Jessica Beil. I think Rosie Huntington-Whitely or some other mega-gorgeous model could pull it off, but it’s not working for me on Jess’s athletic body. It looks a lot a bit frumpy or matronly on Jess.
+1 completely.
i agree. i some photos it just makes her hips look wider and we all know what a great body she has.
it’s a beautiful dress though.
I so agree
I also agree. She always looks matronly… Soooo disappointing, because she is a beautiful woman.
This dress was made for someone with no curves or muscles.
It was my favourite look as well! I wish she’d done something with her hair, so it’d be all about the dress. A simple bun would be perfect!
Gorgeous dress for a gorgeous woman.
Getting a bad early ’70s vibe from this…plus I’d like a little change in the hairstyle.
This looks somewhat matronly on her. Maybe if she wore an updo I would like it more.
My favourite dress from that collection! BDOTW
The color is awful on her and the hair is too daytime, jeans and t shirt.
On the bright side, at least she didn’t completely give us a heart attack by wearing standard black pumps.
IDK where my mind is today, this is my comment but I put in FC instead of AW, my apologies.
She is too long waisted for this dress–maybe she could overcome it with a pose, but she doesn’t pose. She takes all the life out of it.
I think it is a beautiful dress, but looks so frumpy on her I could imagine that in motion on the model, and I think that this silhouette just doesn’t work with her body type. The gold of her shoes and the clutch kill the look. The pewter of the clutch and the gold shoes should never have been together, especially with a glamorous bronze dress. I am seriously hoping for looks like those she gave during her promo tour for ‘The A-Team’, or her Vanity Fair Oscar party Atelier Versace.
I really like this look. I agree that the clutch looks odd with this dress, but the rest of the outfit is great!
i love it sans the distracting clutch!
Wow, is Valentino having a moment or what?
I love this dress on the runway.. I love the braided hair and the earrings too. On Jessica I find this boring. I do not like the clutch but the shoes look like a good choice. I wish she’d opted for an up do instead to add some drama.
reminiscent of Eva Mendes in Gucci- a loose fitted gown covering a hot body. I think it’s the full hair and fresh sultry make up that are key to preventing it being frumpy.
Another vote for the ‘matronly’ corner!
I think this is shapeless on her. I love the dress. Just not on her.
She looks short and dumpy in this. Where is the outline of her figure, to make this dress hot? She also looks wider than normal. So heavy looking, I can’t figure out why anyone thinks this is a good look for her. At best, it isn’t a fail. Just not good.
