Sarah Jessica Parker attended the 2011 Brain Trauma Foundation Gala in New York City on Monday evening.
She wore a vintage black silk dress, paired with Manolo Blanhik stilettos, a VBH bag, Wolford tights and Fred Leighton jewels.
In head-to-toe black, this is definitely an understated look for the usually super-styled Sarah Jessica.
We’re surprised she didn’t add a large overcoat as she’s been known to do of late – but no complaints here. The embellished VHB bag is just enough.
Long, mermaid-esque ombre waves complete the look.

Love this! Love her
I really like this toned down approach. Normally I don’t love head to toe black, but I really like this.
A nice look not bogged down by one too many accessories…yay.
I love everything except the bag; I don’t understand why she keeps on wearing this kind of bag on the red carpet.
I’m not wowed.
+1…too dark, gothic, and not a good look for SJP. She is capable of so much more.
Not sure I would have like this on someone else, but on her I love it!
This is bland.
would have loved an up do or even a shorter hairstyle. the rest of the look is beautiful.
Hi FC – the tights are super cute! Theres a black bow at the back of them, mid thigh. Love the quirk to an all black enssemble. tres chic!
Love it, very flattering perfectly done look. Her standout hair is the only statement “accessory” that this look needs esp. considering that it`s not a plain black dress, the shape of the skirt and the lace detail speak for themselves without being overwhelmed by excessive bling-bling/accessories.
SJP’s version of minimalism. I like her being pared down for once.
Something is missing. I’m thinking earrings with larger impact and a silver metallic minaudière would break up the black without overpowering the simplicity of the dress.
