Sarah Jessica Parker was one of the many stars to tread the red carpet at the 34th Kennedy Center Honors event in Washington, D.C. last night.
The actress has never been afraid to make daring choices on the red carpet, a case in point being this Theyskens’ Theory Fall 2011 gown.
For one so petite, this gown with a voluminous skirt should totally overwhelm SJP and swallow her whole, but I think she pulls off this look with great aplomb when so many others would’ve been totally lost.
The gown would’ve had to have been modified to fit her perfectly, yet it hasn’t lost its shape or its volume. Kudos to the tailor.
Looking at the model’s overly creased gown I have to ask, did SJP walk to this event?
A very sleek updo adds yet more volume and height to her look. Dazzling earrings provide the finishing touches.
Love, loathe or undecided?
Me? LOVE, Love, love.

this is absolutely brilliant
+1 !!!
love love love !!!
+2 – LOVE!!
actually,like it
The dress totally reminds me of classic Balenciaga dresses from the 50s. In any case, she looked amazing. Oh, I’m in love with her updo ♥
+1
Like.
SJP has often been accused of over accessorizing, but not here – everything is pitch perfect to my eyes!
LOVE! <3
I’m with you! I’ve ragged on SJPs previous outfits but this is just amazing! A wonderful polish to it from the hair to the earrings to the whole demeanor. The dress, oh wow the dress.
(Sidenote: I wish I could stop quibbling but I thought a nice fuschia lippy would be better. Or at least slightly darker than the color she sports now)
Agreed
Maybe she got dressed there?
good thinking.
I would have never thought a petite frame can pull off such a voluminous dress! but SJP did and she did it well! Beauty wise, She is looking amazing too.
+1
Love. SJP totally pulls this off.
Also love. Another BDOTW look for me.
Me too
+1 for BDOTW
+2. She is rocking this egg. Brilliant.
Adore it!
LOVE! This kind of look was made for her! The dress, the hair, it’s all perfection. <<<<>>>>>
This is SJP at her best! I love when she goes retro. This is pitch perfect for me.
Totally agree. This was made for her. She really looks fabulous. Definitely BDOTW
Only Monday and already a BDOTW contender. The big hair really works on this occasion.
This is classic SJP; when I saw the dress on runway, I immediately thought she should wear it. She totally makes it work.
very beautiful and well thought-out!
she looks really good! BDOTW!
Love, love, love! I was actually looking at this dress at an online retailer the other day and thought it wouldn’t be wearable. But she just proved how wrong I was. And she wears it so much better than the model! BDOTW please!
What’s not to love? She looks divine. BDOTW!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE !!!
I love this woman. BDOTW for me
Bold. I love it.
I think Olivier Theyskens would be brilliant at the House of Dior.
Amazing! Amazing one of this year’s best – And the hair and the earings pure perfection
This may be one of my favorite gowns SJP has ever worn. It is perfection on her. BDOTW hands down.
She didn’t walk, she glided! Fabulous look.
Ok, SJP in this dress is totally throwing off my BDOTY list. There is no way this dress should work at all, much less bowl me over like this. And she even restrained herself with her accessorizing. Back to the drawing board.
Best I’ve seen her look in a long time. This is not a look for just anyone but in this case it is so right. Divine!
Love it. Very much recalls classic Balenciaga and Dior looks. Really eye-catching but also classic.
LOVE, pure love.
LOVE it!!!
what’s she got under that dress?the famous uprising rush of air from the subway grate that marylin monroe took so gracefully under that amazing, fabulous white dress she wore?unfortunately, sjp’s sac can never withstand that:)
