Mathilde Meyer also attended the Dior pop-up shop in Miami City on Tuesday evening.
The head of public relations for Dior wore a multi-print dress from the Dior Fall 2011 Couture collection.
We’ll give style points for any couture look that makes it to the red carpet, but this dress is simply a miss.
The yellow-print waistband completely throws off any bit of coherence, sending the dress into couture clownish territory. Never a good thing.
Pale pink peep-toes complete the look.

What a crying shame. RIP John Galliano. His couture collections for Christian Dior were always polished and elegant and imaginative and, most importantly, fiercely beautiful. This, like the collection that it sprung from, doesn’t even deserve to be called couture – no matter how many hundreds of hours went into its making and no matter how many tens of thousands of dollars it costs. Caricature, not couture.
+1
“Caricature, not couture” AGREED!
If Mathilde were a 12 year old girl this may have passed as a dress (certainly not couture!!!) but this is all wrong!
Worst couture of the year?
Worst couture of the decade.
i think if the mustard band in the middle wasn’t patterned as well, it might not be an unspeakably awful dress
I feel a little ashamed for admitting it now, but I love this look. This may not have been the best Dior Couture collection ever created…in fact, it was possible the worst, but that’s not saying very much. I think Mathilde has chosen a good look from it too, and she wears it very well. In an ideal world, I’d like to see this up for BDOTW, although perhaps that’s not very likely…!
This is the laziest dress I have ever seen. I don’t even see clown couture. She looks like a Giant stale cupcake.
I have to say, I kind of like it. It has issues – I am most bothered by the top part – but ultimately, it kind of works.
The dress is certainly close to clown territory but sadly Mathilde is also a bit too old to pull it off imo.
Maybe someone younger? Dakota Fanning? Katy Perry? Or just scrap the entire dress and count it a loss.
I agree Mathilde is not helping this along. No matter who wore it though, I think I would still dislike it.
That`s exactly my 1st thought – the dress maybe silly but it`s Mathilde`s age that brings it down entirely. On someone like Hailee Steinfeld with a pair of cute Miu Miu shoes it wouldn`t have looked nearly as comical.
I actually kind of like this, I just think the styling and personality aren’t strong enough to pull it off.
I think Katy Perry could have had fun with this and made it look a lot better.
I kinda like it…
I’m just looking through old pages and this dress gets uglier the more I see it – so I’m changing my opinion to terrible.
Atrocious. Assault on everyone’s eyes.
People should be fined & jailed for choosing/wanting to wear pieces from this collection.
LOL!
Not good. Bad look from a questionable collection.
I like it. I totally get it.
I actually like it!
she looks adorable. But this collection is still the most hideous dior couture collection ever… I can never get over it
This belt ruins everything nice about this look.
I don’t hate it as a runway piece, but on Mathilde it turns into caricature. She has an elfin quality, but it’s not enough to pull this piece off. I have to say here though that I’m more entertained visually by this than just another pretty pastel floaty dress, they all often just blend together into a big nothing for me….so I can’t completely pan this…..
The dress isn’t so bad, IMO – she just doesn’t carry it well.
God I hated that show!
I can use this picture to back up my opinions now! thank you!
i like it.reminds me of picasso, of one of his works..don’t kill me, just saying!
