Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: November 2011

Kate Winslet gave us a strong case of déjà vu whilst walking the red carpet at the ‘Carnage’ premiere in Paris on Sunday evening.

The British actress wore almost exactly the same Stella McCartney dress that she wore to the ‘Mildred Pierce’ Venice Film Festival premiere early September.

The shape is exactly the same, but this red-and-black-panel Octavia stretch dress doesn’t have the third coloured boob panel that many of you strongly disliked.

Kate opted for a bouffant updo and black sparkling ankle-strap heels.

I really liked the last look, but I love this one.

The colour is more vibrant and this dress works better as a bi-colour dress.

Gemma Arterton attended the 57th Evening Standard Awards at the Savoy Hotel in London last night.

She donned a chic all black ensemble with a touch of bedazzlement.

The former Bond girl wore a black Viktor & Rolf Fall 2011 tuxedo jacket with satin lapels which she paired with a Balmain Spring 2012 embellished top.

At a press day in London last week I was fortunate enough to see the Balmain Spring 2012 collection up close. The embellishments actually look like an upside down Christmas trees.

A matching Balmain clutch, skin-tight leather pants and Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ pumps completed her look.

I love the wild tresses and smoky eyes as it works very well with her rock chick look.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge was out doing exactly what I was doing this weekend: shopping at Zara.

But I very much doubt we purchased the same things.

Catherine kept her look super simple as she strolled the high street in London on Saturday afternoon.

She may have been shopping at a Spanish retailer, but she was wearing a British brand: Mulberry.

Her black turtleneck was teamed with a Mulberry Polly Push Lock pleated skirt in a black wool blend with a herringbone stitch.

The skirt was teamed with knee-high boots and her favourite Mulberry ‘Polly Push Lock’ bag which we’ve seen her carry a few times before.

Beyonce Knowles continues to try to outdo Jessica Alba for the title of Best Maternity Style 2011.

Bey has a long way to go, but she certainly made steps in the right direction at the screening of ‘Live at Roseland: The Elements of 4’ which took place in New York City last night.

Before I even got to her Roberto Cavalli gown, my reaction was THANK GOD she’s returning to her natural hair colour.

I’ve grown so tired of the blonde, especially when it was looking mighty fried over the summer.

Her chocolate-brown Cavalli gown with a plunging neckline was accented with gold embroidered details on the sides.

Gold-hooped earrings and Lorraine Schwartz bracelets completed her look.

Nicole Richie unveiled her ‘House of Harlow 1960′ holiday pop-up shop on Saturday night at Fred Segal in West Hollywood, California.

Nicole wore a Halston Spring 2011 two-tone sequined dress, paired with a red House of Harlow clutch.

When this dressed-up boho dress first hit the runway, our immediate thoughts were “Nicole Richie or Kate Hudson”, and Nicole did not let our designer daydreams down.

The cut and style is a perfect match for Nicole.

House of Harlow 1960 statement jewelry completed her look.
