Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: November 2011

Seriously, how many more premieres does this ‘Puss In Boots’ movie need?

It feels like Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas have lapped the world twice plugging this movie.

It has been seven months since the first Cannes Film Festival photocall back in May, so that means either this movie can’t be any good, it has a huge budget or neither actor has any other projects in the pipeline.

I wouldn’t be complaining if Salma was giving us some great red carpet looks à la Miss Rosie Huntington-Whitely, but they just seem to be getting worse and worse, which is surprising considering her access.

On this occasion she donned a YSL black suit with a mint green halter top from the Spring 2012 collection.

I would’ve forced myself to like the look had it not been for the hat.

The hat makes this look feel too costumey for me.

Yasmin le Bon was joined by her husband Simon on the red carpet at the launch of the Vertu Constellation in London last night.

The supermodel, who doesn’t appear to be aging, wore a Christopher Kane Fall 2011 dress.

This isn’t the first time she’s worn a dress by the British designer; she appears to be a big fan.

On this occasion she donned a sequined tulle dress with the gel-filled PVC wave trims on the pockets and hemline.

I would’ve preferred this dress on Yasmin without the middle panel going across the waist.

Sporting her trademark hair pulled back into a bun hairstyle, the supermodel wore black strappy sandals and opted for a bronze lip colour which perfectly complemented her caramel skin tone.

Sienna Miller was in Paris last night to help Lancel celebrate 135 years of French Légèreté.

The actress, who hosted the event, opted for a Emilio Pucci Fall 2011 dress.

This black lace dress with a wrap fringed skirt is kinda subdued for Sienna who loves to stand out in colourful looks on the red carpet.

Considering she spent most of the day at the High Court yesterday, it’s understandable that she wanted to tone things down a bit.

Despite that I’m not a fan of the fringed details on the skirt. You have to have be Milla Jovovich to pull off that kind of detail.

Trademark ‘just got out of bed’ hair, black tights and a black clutch completed her look.

Recently I attended the Starworks Spring 2012 press preview in London.

The designers on display included Nicholas Kirkwood (who designed those yummy fringed sandals above), Nicholas Kirkwood for Pollini, Marios Schwab, Roksanda Ilincic, Kate Spade New York, Julien Macdonald, Peter Pilotto and Jonathan Saunders.

The Jonathan Saunders dress which Emma Stone wore to the 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala, plus the Marios Scwab dress Rebecca Hall wore to the ‘Awakening’ London premiere and the Roksanda Ilincic dress Lady Gaga wore out in London were all on display.

Take a look as the pieces up close below.

Jessica Alba was the first to wear this Versace for H&M studded top and skirt when she attended the fashion show to celebrate the collaboration two weeks ago in New York City.

The actress sported a high ponytail, red lips which matched her nail polish, black tights and black pumps.

Fan Bingbing wore the same look this week at the Chen Man Photography Exhibition in Shanghai, China.

Like Jessica, she also added tights and black pumps, but Fan had more fun with her look, sporting fun frames, a Louis Vuitton hat and a Jeremy Scott for Adidas leather jacket.

Fan wins easily for me, as Jess looked a tad frumpy in comparison.
