Marni for H&M

You may still on a high from grabbing that must have item from the Versace for H&M collection, but H&M already working on the next project.

This morning they announced that the next collaborating will be with Italian fashion house Marni.

The Spring collection for both men and women designed by Marni founder and creative director Consuelo Castiglioni, will feature clothing and accessories.

“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints,” says Castiglioni.

For women, the colours are vivid and the prints are bold, be they African inspired or simpler colour blocks. The silhouettes are all Marni staples, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, and fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. To finish the complete look the collection also includes jewellery, shoes, bags and scarves.

For men, the colours and fabrics are softened for a relaxed take on menswear staples that is truly Marni. The use of print is subtle, often as a lining or as a contrast detail for shirts, the silhouette a modern and relaxed take on masculine classics.

The Marni for H&M collection will be available on March 8, 2012 in select H&M stores and online.

As a lover of African inspired prints I couldn’t be more excited about this collaboration.

This is very brave for H&M as marni is not meant for the masses. Can’t wait

I thought you’d be dead against the idea

No not at all.-if it is done well. Trouble is most of the collections don’t produve well in real life.

I couldn’t be more thrilled! Marni isn’t one you see often on the red carpet, but they’re one of my absolute favorites. I’ll be camping out virtually (our local H&M isn’t likely to stock it).

The prints look really stunning. I would really love to have some pieces. The Versace collection looks so cheap compared to this.

I always imagine my mom as a Marni woman. She has the earthy, quirky and somewhat whimsical style that is very close to Marni. And she love unconventional print. Unfortunately I cannot afford anything from Marni. But I know what I’m gonna gun for: that blue dots jackets and some bold accessories. Let’s hope they have size more than just zero, unlike some house *cough*Versace*
