Kate Beckinsale attended a press conference at The London Hotel in West Hollywood today with actor Anthony Mackie to announce the nominations for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards.
The British actress showed off her long, toned legs wearing a Tadashi Shoji Spring 2012 dress.
Her beautiful white and nude tulle cocktail dress was made considerably shorter. Thankfully she did this by hitching up the dress higher instead of ruin that gorgeous embroidered lace hemline.
Kate didn’t add many accessories, just a pair of nude Brian Atwood pumps and ivory drop earrings.
Glossy waves and glossy lips completed her look.

she has great legs, but she is also not 20 anymore. I find this too short and tight, looks like a footballer’s gf.
The dress on the runway is so lovely.
Yep too short and tight. I would have liked this if I didn’t have the runway picture to compare it to, she’s forcing the sexy here…not good.
i couldnt understand what is the purpose of getting dress out of runway version because it doesnt look like dress (short or long) anymore. but i think age doesnt have anything to do with this. even 50 years old can short dresses, or 70.

She has great legs. I can see why she wants to show them but this looks like a top on her and not a dress. I think she should have worn this as such or either chose something else to wear cuz this is kinda short.
Way too short, she basically turned the dress into a top. (which might have worked on Kate Bosworth). The hair is distracting, should`ve pulled it back.
The shorter version ruins the dress. I thought for a moment that the bottom parts was some weird panties.
She would have looked lovely in the runway version. This forced sexiness was a bad choice.
Agree with everything
agree with everything you have said. & i think even if she kept the runway version, she would still show off her legs & look sexier without trying too hard. It’s to bad, I usually like what she wears!
agree
Me too. I thought she was wearing lace “tap pants”.
Awful.

She’s beautiful, but there’s something odd about this dress in this lenght. Like there’s too much fabric on the upper half and too few from her waist down.
Ok, I re-read my comment and I’m sorry for my English. I hope I made my point. though.
Everything you said was correct–both content and English. She ruined the dress–looks like lingerie the way she presented it, and it’s too bad.
No your english was perfect. I agree completely with Rebecca Z. The proportion of fabric above and below the waist is wrong. Also, I know she’s borderline open-toe phobic, but would it kill her every ocne in while to wear something less clunky than a pump (inevitably in black or nude)?
Thank you to both of you, Rebecca and Hannah.
Oh, and I absolutely agree about the shoes!
I agree, she doesn’t like to show her toes at all. There are a few rare pics of her feet and she probably has long oes or maybe she doesn’t like the differnt lenght of them.
These particular shoes she’s wearing here are nice, not that clunky, but isn’t that “skirt” awful?
the worse I’ve seen her wearing in a long time.
Agreed! I wish she’d kept the runway legnth it’s so much for feminine and elegant. This looks unbalanced but gosh darn it she does have great pins and the color is stunning on her.
I think she looks great from the waist up. Too short for her or on anyone because the proportions are off.
One word: PJs
The longer version is way better!
The distance between sexy and tacky is two inches…
I think that the shorter version is not that classy but let me say that she’s so beautiful that I don’t mind at all. She looks like a living doll!!! And she can’t look tacky because being tacky for me is something that comes from inside, it’s an attitude. That’s my opinion.

She doesn’t look tacky at all.
She’s got amazing legs and can rock this look, but I do like the runway version better.
She looks beautiful and rocks the look but the dress is a bit too short. The top section looks awesome and I think the tight skirt would have been fine if it was a bit longer.
what the hell? these are pajamas!
As far as I’m concerned, Kate’s outfit is truly lovely and I have totally nothing against the dress being shortened- her legs are out of this world
This makes everything so ceompltely painless.
I LOVE IT HER WAY! AMAZING! i would have done the same
