Ella Chen In Andrew Gn – 48th Golden Horse Awards

Ella Chen was one of my favourites on the red carpet at the 48th Golden Horse Awards which took place in Hsinchu, Taiwan, on Saturday night.

She looked amazing wearing an Andrew Gn Fall 2011 gown.

Unlike many other celebs at this event who over-accessorized, Ella’s pleated taupe silk gown was free to do all the talking.

I love the antique silver beaded detail on the waist which gives the gown a beautiful silhouette.

A side-swept updo and glossy lips completed her look.

What a gorgeous dress! The colour is fab, as are the soft pleats. Agree with everything you said.

      me too. gorgeous.

This is a beautiful dress. It has so much power on the runway. I don’t think Ella has enough presence to really do it justice.
The sideswept hair looks a bit like a beret. Not loving.

Not loving this either. Awful hair, doesn`t flatter her face or work with the dress, and her presence is of a wrong kind – instead of bringing the drama, she looks like a teenage boy in a dress.

Stunning gown! I love her in this, especially with that hair.

  4. Jones19 November 28, 2011 at 13:59 #

Oh my goodness this is such a beautiful dress and she’s doing it justice. Flawless.

  5. Nadine November 28, 2011 at 14:05 #

    Her hair is so disturbing

  6. dee November 28, 2011 at 14:05 #

Love the gown. I don’t like her hairstyle though.

+1, the gown is gorgeous, the hair is terrible.

I Thought it was gorgeous dress, and ella is so pretty.
    Love her and the dress.

I love this purely for the fact that she has styled this very simply especially considering the abundance of jewels at the event. The dress is amazing! It is so powerful on the runway but on Ella we see a more softer side of it which is lovely. Ella looks great and holds her own.

Well, that was very well put. I have to agree!

        Me too, well said!

+2. It’s a great colour on her and looks so great under the lights. Plus the youthfully elegant hair suits her young face.

She looks stunning! I can’t believe she is the same actress who played Ashiya Mizuki, a girl pretending to be a boy, in Hana-Kimi, wow!

  10. Jess November 28, 2011 at 16:16 #

fab! what a dress….just a shame her pose is creasing those pleats on the bodice.

  11. Moxie November 28, 2011 at 16:23 #

    Love!

tnx very very much for your very good site

why you dont show us fashion from korea?

      Eh? *Baffled*

I feature events I find interesting fashion-wise and those who’s pictures I have access too.

They could be from Timbuctoo, so long as they are wearing a runway look I find interesting.

Many publications don’t even feature any Asian celebs.

I thought I was doing a good thing, but apparently it’s not quite enough.

      • Umi November 29, 2011 at 19:00 #

You’re doing great, FC. Plus there actually have been Korean events. I really enjoy Asian fashion events in general.

          Thank you.

I’m glad you have noticed that I am doing my best

This qualifies for BDOTW, for me. It’s perfectly styled, and so well suited for her frame.

  14. Elle November 28, 2011 at 21:19 #

    She looks adorable.

  15. Rahel November 28, 2011 at 21:22 #

Not liking the hair but the dress is stunning. It has to be BDOTW. Not like other dresses which were worn weeks ago this one looks really special.

    • Katharine November 29, 2011 at 00:59 #

Agreed … this definitely has my vote, despite the slightly dodgy barnet.

  16. Lindsey November 28, 2011 at 21:24 #

Yes, she looks absolutely stunning. But does anyone else notice the HORRIBLE hack job hem at the bottom? Obviously the dress needed to be shortened a bit in the front, but whoever did it should never touch a needle and thread again.

  17. gurlygurl November 28, 2011 at 23:19 #

She’s adorable!! I have no idea who she is but this look is knockout! Stunning dress.

  18. CTgirl November 28, 2011 at 23:23 #

Gorgeous dress that is so unique. Good choice.

  19. fashionfreak November 30, 2011 at 05:34 #
