Gillian Anderson In Vintage Christian Dior Couture – InStyle Magazine’s 10th Anniversary Party

Gillian Anderson isn’t usually one to catch my eye, but she did at InStyle Magazine’s 10th Anniversary Party in London on Tuesday night.

The actress looked ethereally beautiful wearing a Christian Dior 1970s Couture dress.

Her simple cap sleeve belted dress had a wrap skirt that split to reveal her silver pumps.

What blows my mind are her emerald Adler earrings and her flawless makeup.

Gillian wore her hair straight, pulled back and side parted, which allowed her earrings to sparkle to their fullest.

I think this is the best she’s ever looked, even though I would’ve preferred silver sandals.

Do you think that this is BDOTW worthy?

WOW!!!! Definitely BDOTW worthy. I agree on the silver sandals but I’m still bowled over by the beauty and simplicity of this look. Hair, make up, everything is perfection… wonderful earrings that makes her eye color really pop.. I’m swooning *sigh*

    Adding to the BDOTW crowd.

    She looks amazing!

  8. Marybeth November 24, 2011 at 19:53 #

Definitely worthy of consideration for BDOTW in my opinion!
But then, I am always partial to simple, elegant looks highlighted with one “statement” element

Altough I hate the pumps with such a elegant dress like this , it’s definitely BDOTW worthy.

She does look beutiful. I think that the reasonforo teh pumps is because if she had worn sandals, which I assume wouldn’t have such a platform, she would have had to have either had a way too long gown or hd to have shortrened it, and being a vintage dior gown, I’m sure that these shoes were the best option.

Yes, it is BDOTW worthy, gorgeous dress and good styling.

  12. Mani November 24, 2011 at 16:50 #

She looks great! Not that may people can pull off all white. She has been popping up a lot lately, (i.e. London Film festival) wearing Dior then too. Dior looks great on her.
BDOTW worthy for sure. Love the earrings

At first glance I thought she was Jerry Hall;especially in the second picture where Gillian is pouting!
Nevertheless, FC you are absolutely right: hard to miss on the red carpet this time!

  19. Fee November 24, 2011 at 14:55 #

Other than the shoes this is amazing. It’s not only the best I’ve seen her look but probably my favourite look on any celebrity in a long time. The dress is completely timeless. Love.

    Breathtaking! BDOTW please!! 🙂

  21. Barbs November 24, 2011 at 14:20 #

BTOTW worthy material for sure! I love simple and clean elegant looks like this! Simply beautifull!

  22. Gaber November 24, 2011 at 13:52 #

I adore her, I love the look, but it just fails to excite me in the end.
I wouldn’t object in the slightest though if this was made BDOTW.

  23. Mick November 24, 2011 at 13:13 #

I do, it’s perfection! I had seen those pics on another website earlier, I thought she looked amazing, and hoped you would feature her!

  24. Raquel November 24, 2011 at 13:11 #

Yes, it´s BDOTW worthy in my opinion. Maybe the pumps are too heavy, but it´s a great look.

  25. Jones19 November 24, 2011 at 12:51 #

Wow I’ve never seen her look this good. BDOTW for sure.

  26. Mahima November 24, 2011 at 12:31 #

I’m surprised that this gown is from the 70s. Its amazing how modern it looks.

  27. Jorge November 24, 2011 at 12:26 #

    OMG!! she’s soooo GORGEOUS!!!!

  28. Martin November 24, 2011 at 12:25 #

This is lovely, but I don’t really see anything here that tips it into BDOTW territory. And the shoe is way too heavy for a dress intended to be so light and ethereal. Rather than grounding it, they unnecesarily weigh it down for me. In short, good but not great.

    • Nat39 November 24, 2011 at 20:49 #

It`s just good, can make the BDOTW poll, surely, but not good enough for me to vote for it, awful shoe choice.

  29. Betty Brandenburg November 24, 2011 at 12:15 #

    Definitely BDOTW worthy!

  30. Linda November 24, 2011 at 12:15 #

I agree with you, FC. This is the best she’s ever looked, simple, clean, elegant and BDOTW worthy.

    • Jess2 November 24, 2011 at 13:31 #
