Whilst most of Fan Bingbing’s peers opted for cutesy dresses at the opening of the Chen Man Photography exhibition last night in Shanghai, China, Fan decided upon a more edgy look.
The Asian actress wore a Versace for H&M studded top and skirt: her second look from this collection.
Her high-street look was toughened up with a Jeremy Scott for Adidas winged leather jacket and a Louis Vuitton baker boy hat.
Those of you who love Princess Fan Bingbing might not like this change of pace, but I think she appears to be having a lot of fun on the red carpet at the moment by switching things up a bit.
She can’t wear a gown to everything, as much as we’d like her to.
Steve Urkel-style glasses, tights and black pumps completed her look.

I really like the fact that she is shooting for something more edgy! However I don’t like the hat as I think it is too much I am also not so fond of the wings. I think she can pull off the edgy look but I don’t think this look is the best demonstration
i like! amazing that she can look as comfortable in this as in a pretty flowy couture gown.

I am all for unpredictability on the red carpet and relish when starlets step out of the box and give us something new and exciting and untested and a little left-of-centre. This, doesn’t fall into any of those categories unfortunately.
Trying WAY too hard, poor Fan just looks ridiculous and a little sad to me. “Look, I’m different, I can do quirky and cool and fun!” Um, no you can’t. This positively screams tryhard. And confected. If you’re going to do it, you need to own it and it needs to look as though it is something that comes naturally. This is a failure on every level for me.

Completely. I think when she isn’t in her Elie-saab embellished gown safety zone she looses it completely. it is like one extreme to the other. I don’t remember a time when she either wasn’t super (too) quirky or in a gown. Seeing her in either cocktail or casual wear without a gimmick would be a real treat.
I honestly think she’s more herself in those gorgeous eli saab gowns. She’s always so happy in them and the guy praticaly designed them for her imo! But it’s also good that she’s trying other stuff that’s what fashion is about. But to be frank I’ll be more than to see her in a gown eli saab or another designer.

I say if you can , why not. I wish i could dress up edgy to a hospital (my workplace) … I think she looks absolutely fantastic. It’s fun, edgy and girly, I love her ponytail with the tough look and I love how she is not predictable with a biker boots as well. This is a great look from her
I find this look pretty awesome, fun and interesting. That said, she could’ve left one or two accessories at home. It’s really verging on too costume-y for my taste.

The jacket is making her appear wider than she really is! I’m not a big fan of this look to be honest ,she’s trying too hard in my opinion.
I cannot possibly even imagine fashionistas such as Miranda Kerr, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoe Saldana and Emma Stone looking like this, not to mention the ladies associated with the word “grace” (Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchet etc.).
I can, however, picture someone like Lady Gaga with an outfit as outrageous as this one.

speaking of Fan, i guess we can’t see personality of Fan with her appareance at red carpet lately. She just disappear with those outfit she wore, even the Elie Saab phase, in my opinion, and made her forgettable.

Awful styling – if you wanna go edgy and quirky, then do it all the way not just half-way – why wear boring black tights/pumps combo, go for some edgier boot. Anyway, this look isn`t working for her, very uncomfortable to look.

She is such a beauty that even when I’m not in love with what she’s wearing, I still manage to like it. It”s a bit quirky and totally not her, but it’s Fan Bingbing, so I’ll like it.
I’m at the point where I just gasped whenever I see Fan Bingbing being featured no matter if it’s Elie Saab or a trashbag that she’s wearing. She is such a doll!
I love Fan… in a gown… everything else always seems like she’s playing dress up. This outfit works for me on the runway but it looks like Fan is trying too hard… she is adorable but I don’t like this
